I think it's the reverse - well, sometimes. I've see more offline players with act out of hubris than online. Sure, there are numerous trolls and jackasses online, but when pooled together, I'd wager the percentages are less than that of offline players who do the same things.
I just think the division you (other offline players if they agree with that quote) are attempting to create divides the community further. How many serious offline players are there? How many players are here from online? I'm fairly certain that the community isn't large enough to survive everyone being relegated to a "class."
Quite frankly, I could care less if you or another individual thinks negatively about me for my opinion. I am not rude nor hostile towards anyone - I've shared my thoughts on the matter just as most others here have. Besides, this itself is the internet, so no love lost. I won't refrain from it simply because someone may dislike it. It's not how the world should work. But with that, there's no sense in me commenting any further on the argument for/against the offline/online division.
There is no online/offline division. There never has been and there never will be. In any fighting game community. Anywhere. Ever.
It's best to wash that out of your head now and loose these pre-conceived notions that we dislike you or others like you, because we don't. We couldn't care less, in fact. We're here to compete the only way it is possible to compete.
There is only the competitive community, and the competitive community can only operate in one manner using offline play to decide placement with online play for training/casuals/funtimes. It
has to be done this way, there is no debating the subject. Online play is too heavily flawed, and no matter what anyone says that will never change.
Code are you aware that I play offline maybe 1% of the time? And I'm
still telling you that it is the
only way to decide who is actually better than anyone else. No fighting game community can exist online with any form of legitimacy. it's a different sport and it's a different experience.
Finally, I'll leave you with this.

These are quotes by
online players. Not offline ones. Oh sometimes they will CLAIM they are offline players, but the fact is I know just about
everyone and these people do not
exist in the realm of offline play. They are online players trying to pose as something they believe is superior.
But you're telling me that you're discriminated against by
actual offline players
TO THIS EXTENT? By this many people? Are they telling that you're a worthless piece of shit and you need to go hang yourself?
I don't think thats ever been an issue here, so I'm not even sure what your real complaint is. I think it's honestly a myth that has virtually no backing whatsoever, and I think you guys pretty much imagine your own villains out of us. If I'm wrong, please give me examples.
