I remember when I had Core Fighters, I would buy every costume released for my old main, Eliot. Now that I have the full game and more people to play with, I just buy all the costume packs. I know I don't HAVE to, but I just want to because it's my way of supporting a game that I like playing.

I will never understand people who buy all the costumes for their main. Every character has had horrible DLC unworthy of a purchase.

:(

I don't think Cowboy, Viking, Cop, Football, or Sumo Bass is horrible DLC...

His Fighter DLC, however, was pretty lame. I do believe that comes on the disc in Ultimate, but back in the day it was paid DLC.

I don't see what is wrong with buying costumes for your mains even if you don't like it. I mean you'll have a lot of options for your mains. Plus if you ever do change your view on the costume you can choose it.

If you change your view on the costume, you can always go buy it.
If you don't change your view on the costume, you can't get a refund.

That would be what's wrong with buying costumes you don't like, along with indirectly providing support for making costumes of unimpressive nature.

In general I'm a kind of people that try to see good sides in external things from me, I'm able to be easily appealed (even keeping reserves on my judgement), and of course there is a completionist side in me for getting a most possible complete experience about the things that I really like. All this is what develops in me the wish for getting the outfits of the DoA5 series. I limit it from the fact that I don't have the possibility to buy everything immediately and then I want do a sort of opposition to the current path, but in the long run I've the prospect to buy all the DLC (at least on Xbox360, on PC I will get only eventual extra characters).

By the way from a rational point I think that the casual gamers, intended how the people that are very interested to the outfits, shouldn't buy what they dislike: this is the most efficient and powerful way to make understand to the ones behind the game that you disagree with what they release (from the quality, to the prices). If everyone would make so, you can be sure that they will change immediately direction about this matter, but evidently the majority of the people can't completely consider it (as I'm guilty of), or instead could really like how the DLC were released so far (for example people interested overall to the fanservice for the females). For this reason I have a deep respect for the will of some people that even seeing outfits that they like, they never bought them just for manifesting their opposition to the prices from Koei-Tecmo.

On the other side, I believe that people that are interested overall to the competitive side of the game and partecipate actively to the tournaments, could have more interests to buy all the packs, just for promoting the game and the initatives of the developers (that like we have seen are not remained far from similar matters during all this time, more the remakes of DoA5 happened just because people showned interest to the old DLC too, doing of it a successful game from a financial pov).

Basically I'm suggesting that people should do the exactly the opposite of what are their direct interests, in favor of something more worthy for the future; the problem is that this is something easy to say but not equally easy to put in act.

In all seriousness, the only thing I have a problem with is people who feel like they have no choice but to buy it.

I'm sure the only ones who actually do feel obligated to do it are Youtubers who showcase them in videos and wish to remain consistent for their fans and subscribers on Youtube, such as @BloodBurger and @Split Infinity. It makes all the more sense when it involves a sponsored/paid Youtube user.

It's like, whenever TN cranks out random BS, I swear I've seen some people go "This costume sucks. *takes out wallet anyway*" Team Ninja did not implant some kind of chip in your brain. You have a choice. You really do. Don't reward TN for putting in no goddamn effort.
I can say with confidence that everyone in this site has at least that much common sense to know they have a choice, as much as you and some others want to believe otherwise.

If anything, it's just knee-jerk emotional reactions for some (which will be forgotten over time), and saltiness about certain costumes not making it in for others. And even then, I believe some of those people buy the costumes anyway because they have an unpopular belief of the bigger picture, which is the more we buy it, the better chances they are at throwing us a throwback for a lesser price or free. 'Cause let's be serious here... TN has every right not to be confident that certain conservative costumes won't sell as well as the fetish DLC after the underperformance of not only the Fighter DLC, but also to an extent, the Legacy costumes as well.

Some of you should be grateful that you got at least ONE of the more conservative costumes you really wanted, in light of this truth. As much as I desire that-costume-which-shall-not-be-named, I don't make it a point to condemn those who buy fetish DLC costumes... especially now that PC modding makes our desires for some more stylish costumes all but possible.

Sorry, it's still cool. If I wanted a fighter costume like Jann Lee's then I'd just turn off cape of Mr. Strong C2.

I've noticed that all the good dlc minis Halloween 2014 is all on disc in LR... Why is it actual good dlc fails so hard when the same bikini but this tine in a slightly different colour sells by the truckloads :/

Vocal minority man. It's been proven in the sales numbers to Team NINJA. They'd rather make bank and deal with the complaints over make zilch and hear praise.

For what it's worth, I think it's a nice step in the right direction to include some males in the themed costumes. It just took a year for them to get on board with that, and in each of their interviews they state that they team members aren't really unanimous on costume selection.

I wasn't implying that he should have gotten one like Jann's. I was only implying that his Fighter costume, in a vacuum, is incredibly boring.

I can see where you may see that. It's easily his most disappointing DLC I think, only rivaled by Sumo Bass.

Yeah, I like that too, Ein and Hayate was a surprise in the Xmas set and police bass and cop rig were also cool additions.

Going this route they'll eventually please a majority of people and that's smart, making money and pleasing male character fans at the same time, but... Legacy pack 2 looks very unlikely now though and that's a real shame.

Just not a fan of the design, but he didn't have any other submissions so... yeah. Would have probably preferred Pirate Bass from the first contest.

Well this is DOA, and fans love the fanservice among female characters just as much as TN loves it. That's why bikinis and other fetish costumes sell better then the more normal or as some say "good" costumes. TN knows what majority of fans want, that is why they keep selling them and they not only sell great but sell so good that barely any of the DOA5 original ones made it in DOA5U for free and none from DOA5U made it in DOA5LR for free while the other costumes did (except for the Halloween and Idol costumes).

I am glad that they are trying to please more then just that majority though. Not that it matters to me much, I like any costume so long as it is good and looks nice on the character whether it is a fetish costume or not.

At this point, it's kind of useless to complain about the type of outfits DOA is getting. Even Tekken and VF have swimsuits and the Fighter Pack in vanilla DOA5 for the males are often mistaken for swimming trunks anyway, so I guess that counts. The girls are the mascots of DOA, with Kasumi being the main main mascot. They are DOA and the males are basically supporting characters, who in turn, are basically supporting characters for the ninjas and Helena. However, compared to past DOA games, the males in DOA5 have gotten more costumes, which is a good thing.

.
I make absolutely nothing on DLC videos because of adblock. I buy the costumes because I want them and because I love DOA. Get ready for more once LR drops. :)
