They announced a proper story as DLC for June. I'm impressed. A little late but better than never.

It does look great... But the fact that it is coming 4 months later than the release is worrying... This game is just not finished, that shows more and more.

So this is how Guile will look:

Me might see him as the second DLC charater in 4 months then...

Or they just want to get the main game out in time for the Capcom Pro Tour.

I mean, they can't delay the tour until June just for story mode. And you can't just keep running SFIV either since majority of tech in that game (combos, option selects, etc.) does not carry over to SFV (which is the case for any numbered Street Fighter sequel).

Honestly, I don't get where this "not finished" talk is coming from. From what people have been playing, the base game is basically done. If this were any other fighting game developer, you'd already see this in arcades. Heck, some of the features you see in online and training mode are way ahead of what other fighters have.

Yeah, I know, it's all about the competitive core community...

We're at it for several pages now. Can Capcom do any wrong as long as they'd let you play Street Fighter competitively with just stick figures?

I have another question that you hopefully can answer me as no one did on the last page? Is stage transitioning (like knocking your opponent into a soup kitchen) still in the game? And I mean not solely in the China stage but also in other stages as they claimed a while back? That would really interest me.

as someone who loved MK9s story and greatly enjoys Blazblue's long ass visual novel style, its fine.

at least its getting one, Virtua Fighter hasn't even bothered and im almost positive it contributes to why that game doesn't have a casual audience, because nobody gets invested in the characters.

I mean VF has a story, but mostly focuses on gameplay instead. I think ZBEP from VFDC explains it better.

But back on topic: I can't wait to see what these players can do with these characters in Street Fighter V. And from my understanding, the first DLC character will be released in March, probably before Final Round 19 I think. Or after.

Which DLC character will be released first again? Was it Urien?

VFrames, an app for Street Fighter V, just got a brand new update. It includes a new UI and added frame data.

I don't really like stuff like that as it's getting one type stuff.
Because by that logic, Capcom can completely half-ass(or no ass the whole thing like UMvC3) and because another game barely focuses on their's, it's better.

I'm not looking for Grade A masterpiece either but let's not pretend that Street Fighter has ALOT of slack to pick up because a huge amount of their stuff is locked to UDON Comics and other outside sources for damn near EVERYTHING about the series.

It's not like there isn't any single player content considering that there still are character specific stories and challenges/trials.

Some sources are stating that some of the existing stages in the beta have these, but they're just not enabled. It's quite probable considering we haven't seen almost half the other stages.

if they can give me a fun game i could care less how many asses it takes. honestly if i can get what i want, for as little money as possible, AND the developers dont kill themselves trying to rush out the game then im fine waiting post release.

And? Character Specific Stories still honestly really mean nothing considering how half-assed the last time they tried that sort of thing ALONG with a story mode...aka Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 literally had neither of those.

You are basically saying it's okay for the game to come shipped like this and focus pretty much all of it on fighting when they have been going on and on about the story mode, you know, something they know casuals really wanted and cared for since they talked about it.

How does that make any sense? They had all the time in the world and as many people said themselves, they could have saved the actual patches for when the game comes out rather than patching every damn BETA. Just because it's Street Fighter doesn't mean it should be absolved of ignoring it's own damn story especially if they hyped it up. I would be on Blazblue and Guilty Gear if they had this same nonsensical excuse so I'm not giving Capcom any different. They had all the time in the world and they wasted it themselves, no excuse.

Japanese fighters usually have public betas, the only difference is this time it was done on the consoles instead of being locked away in an arcade in Japan. So it's not really like they're doing something unescasaary.

And while I would be upset if BB had no story this isn't BB. Honestly I mostly watch BBs stuff for the gags and character interaction which is something I don't think SFV is going to have much of.

The only fighter to this date whose story I was able to follow and legitimately care about was MK9. keep in mind that was a reboot and I had a long history with those characters so even IF SFV manages to do the same thing i doubt I'm going to care as much. If it was just released like this with no story then I guess I would be upset, but because I know it's coming, then I have something to look forward too. I just don't mind waiting at all. I'm actually more dissapointed when I have nothing to look forward to.

YES. Seriously, fuck that MKX shit so bad. Glad to hear they're doing individual stories.

Except it is pretty unneccesary when they've been hyping up the story mode this long...and still do.

Which pretty much gives me no confidence whatsoever that this is going to be the SF Story Mode I've wanted(I want the characters to actually have character, to actually evolve, not be basically a Michael Bay Movie). If Mortal Kombat can do that, then it's kinda weak for Capcom, whose been hyping this Story Mode, to messup that badly.

I'm disappointed because there really ISN'T anything to look forward to. The fact that the highly vaunted Story Mode gets put to the backburner for 4 months because rush it to the pros is just extremely stupid. And unless Capcom packs that stuff to the brim with other things, then all you really going to have is just a barebones game that really is just a Multiplayer Online game until then.

Um, the Prologues is pretty much just Arcade Mode...which is something MK9 AND MKX(as well as Blazblue and Guilty Gear) has done before...

The Story Mode is going to be pretty much like MKX...
