Anyway this game is indeed fun and at first I was thinking "more fun then EV" but the water gunplay is starting to make me miss the regular beat em action. I think I'll boot up EV just to get a quick fix. when's the remake coming out? I need to catch up on story anyway, never owned a ds.

GamesIndustry spoke with Marvelous marketing manager Michael Fisher to talk all things Senran Kagura. One topic discussed is the audience playing the series, which might be somewhat surprising.

Fisher said that quite a few female players are giving Senran Kagura a shot – around 30 to 40 percent. Gamers aged 20 to 25 are also the primary demographic.


Fisher noted:

“A good portion of our fanbase is actually female. Probably 30% to 40%, for sure. Age-wise, 20 to 25 is the main bracket – not teenagers. Everyone I know who plays the game and likes the series falls within that category. It’s a surprising thing.”

Senran Kagura has experimented with different genres over the years, but one thing remains the same: its sexual nature. Fisher spoke about that aspect as well, mentioning:

“If you were to ask a fan, they would tell you about the deep story and all the characters involved – and there is a lot of that. The thing is you can’t ignore the sexual nature to it: the artwork, the graphics. It’s gratuitous, but it’s meant to be and it’s in such a way that it can almost be viewed as tongue-in-cheek in a lot of ways.”

“It’s part of the identity of the game. To take that away would be like losing something – and obviously all the fans would get really angry. Also, don’t forget that kind of stuff is hugely popular in Japan. The games do really well there.”

Yeah, I don't care about any of that drama, I'm just going to keep enjoying the series and having fun. Don't get me wrong I understand when things become a problem it should be discussed but niche games target to a certain demographic among hundreds of games that aren't shouldn't be a problem. if people enjoy it they can enjoy it and if other people enjoy it let them enjoy it, big deal.

Am I the only one who feels like the cast of this series is quickly becoming over-saturated? They can't flesh out all the characters they have and yet they start churning out new ones for each day of the week.

Theyre probably doing it so that they can see more profits in dlc. More new characters = more new exclusive dlc for the character to be eaten up by the fans.

I think they are too many characters too but I'm kinda new to the series and havent even got down the names of everyone and more keep coming. I would prefer more stories focused on the characters over more short episodes for each of the many many more and plus characters to add content.
