Any tips for unlocking Alpha? WHat are some easy titles to do? I hate checking back the requirements every time, i forget them alot.
Get all of them in story, pick every character once in something other than story or training, do a combo into critical burst that ends with a power blow, do everyone's strike and grab cliffhangers (the last few result in 5 titles per character), then grind out all courses in arcade and time attack, trying to use other characters when possible to unlock costumes, for which you get another title once you get all costumes for a character. If you do all of that you should hit 300 easily as other gameplay titles will unlock as you play.
I'd feel sorry for anyone who has to unlock characters before a tourney. That shit is just not fun at all.

Is it necessary to get online-only titles (or are there any)?
I only had a couple for online. One for playing and one for winning a match. You don't need any.

So I've been reading these threads for a few weeks now and I'm pretty sure it has all been discussed, but on the eve of the games release it would be nice to have a sit down and briefly go over how to unlock things. It isn't guessing anymore, there are people here who know for sure. So, if somebody could be so kind to post that would be awesome.

When somebody buys the game Tuesday, what is the basic rundown they need to get started on to unlock everything as efficiently as possible? Any expert advice? TY!

All characters (except Alpha-152), stages, and some costumes are unlocked via completion of Story mode.
Costumes are unlocked by completing any course of Arcade, Survival, and Time Attack in either Solo or Tag. For Tag, only the first character in the team will unlock a costume if available. Additionally, you won't unlock the next costume for a character if you have already completed that course with the character. You will receive a character title when all costumes have been received.
Titles are unlocked through various modes including online and offline play.
Suggestion Run down:
1. Complete Story Mode while achieving the bonus missions.
2. Run through Arcade, Time Trial, and Survival modes for costumes and titles
3. Perform other character specific title unlocks that can be done offline
4. Go online and perform unlocks of the remaining titles.

You can use Tag it's faster and the 2nd character your main, that's how I do it. : )

Get 300 titles (which are from the side missions in story, and others for completing character training and online matches) to unlock Alpha. Gonna take 3 hours or more, not including story mode.

Is Pai unlocked in story mode or arcade mode? No one has stated that yet.
I'm annoyed that they still made her be unlocked by unlocking so many titles, but I'm so relieved to hear that you don't have to unlock ALL of them to get her. It sounds like she's very achievable. Time consuming, but achievable.
I'm also very relieved to hear this.
Yeah, I'm guessing she won't be allowed in tournament play because of this.
