Lei-Fang 's selection is pits (as is most characters it seems). The biggest offender being with those palettes for the same damn dress STILL counting as a different outfit. I consider the Black dress one of her worst costumes in the series as it looks terrible on her and unfitting. Doesn't have the physical measurements or look to properly wear that dress. Even the clown outfit looks better on her (actually think hers unlike Hitomi's looks cute on her and I hate clowns too). Her bikinis also suck and look off for her due to her stupid overly stylized cuteness in this game as well.

I just wanted her Chinese cheongasm with multiple colors and hair styles (which should be dependent on the button or hell a color edit mode if not a customization mode), her black casual outfit since DOA1, her Kenpo outfits (both types and the colors working the way I said above) and her DOA3 ending casual outfit. Hairstyle options are a given and are easy to implement seeing as there's a total of at least 8 buttons they could use (since one of the face buttons is the cancel button, start can be used to select a costume/hair style and select or R3 are random uses for selecting options in games).

A bonus would have been her DOA4 ending outfit. The casual outfit in this game is simply ok to me. I also dislike how her cheongasm looks in this game and think it looks better in every game it showed up in prior. Not to mention, her again overly-stylized cuteness makes the cheongasms look weird on her anyway (at least with her hair tied up since she looks older with her hair down to me in a screen) All in all, I'm VERY displeased with Lei-Fang's design and costume selection this time since Lei-Fang's costume selection simply sucks ass this game and she used to have arguably the best one with so much variety, design and style. At least she'll still be fun to play as..

It's pretty amazing how the VF characters who come from a series with one of the most robust customization modes and options ever seen in a fighter is getting such a huge shaft in a series that prides itself on it's appearance. Especially considering 2 of the characters in question are female in a series that pampers said gender.

Yeah, the VF series has customization, but for the most part, the outfits remain the same. They COULD have, if they wanted to, put all 4 of their VF5 costumes, but I digress. I'm just happy they're in the game.

What they SHOULD do is just get a DLC pack that has all of DOA2U's costumes. Another pack that has all of DOA1 PS1's costumes.

And some Dead or Alive 4 suits as well, I still want Zacks DJ suit back with the earphones. Still no sign of Ryu's unmasked ninja suit.

Just did it. You have to unlock 300 titles. She's...not worth the effort it takes to unlock her, but having a locked character on my select screen was driving me nuts. After losing my data once (not talking about that, still pissed), I buckled down and Rikuto and I blitzed through everything as fast as possible. Total gametime when I unlocked the 300th title was about 8 hours, though some of that was messing around in online. Figure about seven and a half hours to unlock her if you're going straight for it. Hope tournament organizers have fun with that shit...

@Zeo: Doubt I'll get that lucky. TN seems to hate the classic throwback outfit for some reason. Especially Hayashi. Took it out of NG:Sigma for no good reason, and didn't re-include it in Sigma 2.

It would have been better if they just made like 40 outfits for the males and 40 for the females so you can put every female costume on any female you want. I dont care about costumes too much but in the age of customization i expected a little more then color swaps from TN...

I think the costumes so far a very cool. More variety would have been welcome but they're fine.

For the most part, I like the costumes that I've seen (with a few exceptions). The colour swaps are a bit lazy though. I just can't believe that TN would go down that route again after how much backlash they got for it with DOA4. People bashed the colour swaps like nothing else, and they've done so throughout the DOA5 development process. I'm just amazed that they took on board so many ideas from the community and then completely overlooked something as prominent as that.

Unless they did it as a marketing strategy to sell DLC in the future, I really can't fathom how or why they would do something that was so unpopular with the wider community. It just comes across a bit like a lack of imagination. Either that, or the game was rushed.

I don't think Mila's is just a color swap. In her default MMA costume the shorts are kinda long and she's wearing those feet protectors. The other one has small shorts and different shoes.
