Is Ayane the "Ken" of this game, or what?

Ayane top tier in every doa since 2 IMO. Its the only character that i always recommend against new players from playing only because everyone i know always ends up maining her. I walked into a game in my living room last weekend with 4 Ayane's all going at it in tag mode....so lame.

Lol I know. I was joking. and I don't think she is that easy to use. They're just mashing. Ayane takes a lot of skill to use if you ask me. The only ninja that takes skill to use.

Hayabusa + Izuna Drop hold says hello.

I do believe that Ayane is meant to be like the Ken to Kasumi's Ryu, just as Hayabusa is the Ken to Hayate's Ryu... and Hayate/Hayabusa are the Akuma to Kasumi/Ayane's Ryu/Ken from a gameplay perspective. They all share a similar feel in their fighting style, but the guys play with majorly different style priorities than the girls, and the individual characters have different properties/gimmicks that make them unique.

I actually know how to use Ryu in 4 and 5( If I fell like playing him). If you think his izuna holds are hard then you must be bad at doing some 360s. What makes Ayane tricky is her backturn game....It's so fucking deep.

Well the Ninjas in this game are like the Shoto or the Mishimas. But yeah, now, Ayane is even more popular than Kasumi, the poster girl.

Then you have Hitomi, Jann Lee.. and now probably Rig (and Mila?).
The ninjas in doa are NOTHING like the shotos or Mishimas. Shotos and Mishimas all share the same move set with very minor frame and property differences. You can play nothing but ken and then pick up ryu and do just fine. You can not even begin to tell me that ayane plays anything like kasumi or the other ninjas.

Wait, there's a flowchart in DOA5?

I never once felt like taking a diarrhea flow on this game.

No, I meant in term of popularity/"coolness". I know all the Ninjas are different. ^_^

Everyone I run into multiple times in ranked seem to have pocket Eliots.. If I beat someone once in ranked then run into them again, they all seem to pick Eliot for their rematch.

... Damn! I've been found out! Retreat!

And yes, I realize her backturn game is f**king awesome. Why else would she be my secondary?

Seems to be everyone playing as her, and just spinspinspin (reminds me of kens constantly doing shoryuken).

My wife would fit into that demographic.

lol eeeyup. He's not that good, but he isn't harder to lose. You guys gotta stop mashing izuna and learn how to actually poke with him.
