I will see if I can have a way there or not. Money tight right now and I won't really have any til around the 1st(which is luckily why I can make it to the tournament). But we'll see what's up.
Damn, not gonna lie, bro. Your situation is tough.I see it two ways:Journey 1) You could find out how to get to Richmond Bart (end of the line)/El Cerrito Bart (I think it's safer here) and stop at Millbrae (other end of the line). I'd scoop you from Millbrae Bart which isn't that far.Journey 2) You could find a way to get to San Francisco and take CalTrain directly into San Mateo. You're gold from there.Alternate ideas: I'm not sure exactly where Greyhound runs from, or how much it costs. I see that there's a Greyhound in Fairfield/Suisun. That could take you to San Francisco, then hop aboard the CalTrain to San Mateo. Good luck, man!P.S. Here's some tools for your search.Definitely 511.orgmaps.google.com
See y'all Saturday.Nuks: GameCenter is right in front of the Caltrain station! It's probably easiest for you guys to swing through!
Handle yours, bro. Real life always pwns video games. Hope to catch you some time.I will see if I can have a way there or not. Money tight right now and I won't really have any til around the 1st(which is luckily why I can make it to the tournament). But we'll see what's up.
LORD STARK!
I'll be there.
Not to change up anything too hard, but I just talked to the owner of Game Center regarding Saturday. They are planning a tournament for anime games that day. We can still get a session going on Saturday, but he says it might be crowded.See y'all Saturday.
Yo Aegis,So, seeing as how there's at least 4 of us totally down for this, how's this going down? Bringing controllers, games, systems, etc. What time are we shooting for, opening (3PM)? Should we register this as an event so more people are aware of this?
I cannot make Sunday, I have work at 5PM so it cuts right into our meet time. I have Saturday off though so it works betterNot to change up anything too hard, but I just talked to the owner of Game Center regarding Saturday. He suggested Sunday, and let me know that Soul Calibur players normally come then, so there will actually be more overlapping players.
How do you guys feel about this? I can tell him I already have a group confirmed for Saturday if it affects our schedules. I do see benefit in going on Sunday, but I can see how that might affect some people. We can always change this to Sunday for the next gathering.
Holler back, please!
I use a 360 stick, the ps3 is connected to sit down cabinets, but does that include sticks?Yo Aegis,
Game Center has PS3 consoles that are connected to Japanese sit down cabinets. They have USB cables to plug your controller in. For those who play on X360 pad, he has the Cronus cross converters for sale
http://cronusdevice.com/
$65 if you don't already have a dual mod controller. I'm wondering if he'll let any of us rent one if needed.
Hell, I'll bring a PS2 pad and converter if you guys really needed to. haha
They charge $7 per entry for a wristband which can be used all day, with ins and outs. There's plenty of places to eat out in San Mateo as well, as the arcade is right along a busy downtown area. I say we start at 3pm, so we can leave early if necessary. I know some of us have a long ride ahead of them.
Would it help visibility if we registered this as an event? I'm all for letting people know when we have a session.
I'll add ya when I get the chance.Hello, i am a tourney player from other games planning to get more into this game. It's good to know there is some type of community starting up for it. Feel free to add me on xboxlive if you have it, my GT is RolandKirk.
All this talk of offline casuals across the bay makes me sad. Ever since HIN I've been concentrating on my studies and not to mention the fare for crossing the San Mateo Bridge just for casuals seems a little bit overkill for me.
Thanks for all the info as well, thrust. I'll bring my PS3 Pro-Pad and my standard controller. I'm used to my 360 controller but I'll make it work, I don't care.
Hey guys, so the consoles are already connected to a japanese arcade layout. If you can play on a japanese arcade layout, there's no need to bring an extra stick unless you get finicky about your controls. I'll probably bring my stick and a PSX/PS2 to PS3 pad converter just in case. If you play on pad, you should bring it because there are USB connections where you can connect to the console.I use a 360 stick, the ps3 is connected to sit down cabinets, but does that include sticks?
I guess you make a great point. If we wanted to advertise the game to the random arcade goers, we could do a free tournament and offer gameplay advice throughout the casual sessions. If we really wanted to, we could do a money tournament after for those who wanted to make things more serious.Won't be able to make it on Sunday due to work. I'm all for Saturday tho which seems even better now because a bigger crowd will bring more exposure to our game. Hell, we could even make this a small pre-tourney. $5 buy in? $3 buy in? I'm willing to help with this.
Studies are important! I know how it is to sacrifice things to play at offline sessions...All this talk of offline casuals across the bay makes me sad. Isn't there a public transit bus that crosses the San Mateo bridge? A guy I used to know biked a lot and took a bus to/from Fremont.
I live in the San Ramon Valley. It's the regular VF format right, g p k.
Is IceMage in Fremont? That's not far from me.

So we're still on to session on Saturday, November 10 at 3PM @ San Mateo Game Center!
