Lisa Matchups thread

So, after a general consensus has been determined I will update this post with agreed upon win/loss ratios out of 10.

But for now, let's begin the discussion.

So... how the hell are you guys stopping Milla? Up close she brutalizes me, and once they get used to you using :4 :f :plus :k to create space they start sidestepping it into the annoying tackle throw that gives Milla advantage when you break out, forcing a guess between the mid punch stun, kick launcher, and more throws.

Then there's the nasty CB setups with ridiculously low risk and high reward, what with the nerfed holds.

Really having a hard time against ninjas and rush down characters like Eliot or Kokoro(pretty much everyone), Lisa's problem is that she's all mid hold almost on everything and has too much animation on offensive holds . I mean only character with strike ranking 1? Please!!!

The longer animation on offensive holds isn't a problem. They aren't really used up close (better options usually), but for intercepting mid-ranged strikes when you aren't entirely sure of what's coming and speed is less important than spacing.

Kokoro is feisty this time around, but Lisa can keep her out just fine. Watch out for the string throws into Kokoro's (stance) :p :plus :k. She can CB you immediately after with :7 :p and have her way with you or go for a launch/knockdown. Put her in her place when she goes for the low sweeps with :9 :k for a CH sit down stun that guarantees the BT :4 :p launcher. Be careful with your running stance shenanigans because Kokoro can stun you pretty deep if she gets a CH :3 :3 :p, :p :plus :k, or smack you into walls with :2 :1 :4 :p. Practice slow escaping to avoid dangerous launchers like :7 :k and :4 :p :plus :k (they are still too slow) and be weary of string mix-ups like :p :k :p/:3:k :p because that mid punch launches much higher than it used to IIRC. Avoid walls in general because everything Kokoro does sends you flying into them.

Play Elliot from range as well and punish the hell out of random parries with Deja Vu.

I haven't fought any Milas yet, but if you're having trouble keeping her out, don't forget 1P and 1K both track, and have good range. Also, 7P after knockdown is good to get away from anybody.

Learn to use crushes when in close and also who to use your frame advantage to turn the offense.

Low OH her out of the throw. Catches the takedown throw and catches the cancel.

Lisa also deals massive damage with her holds, so let them 4k all they want.

I'm generally a rush down player. I'm too impatient to play range(unless I'm forced to). That's when her 9K, BT 4P set ups, 1K, and Carrera comes into play. Her 8F+P(BT) can be useful, too. I try to keep the fight close up, and try to stay on offense. I think Lisa can be good in range, or distance.

I don't think people realize how good Lisa's Carrera is. I don't run into ANY Lisa player who uses it. One of her best mind screwing tools.

Anybody know how Lisa fares against the VF characters? Especially Sarah, she's probably the most vicious one out of the three. I haven't any experience against them, unfortunately.

I think she'd only have problems with others who are strong at the mid-long distance game. I'm thinking along the lines of Zack, and Ayane.

I'd on crushes, throws, sidesteps and counters close up and I don't see how that would change just because a character is fast with good strings, or has a good mid.

Her sidestep options are pretty bad though. I often just sidestep and throw punish at the end of their string/attack. That then lets to get distance.

Any characters that can control space better than her, have fantastic mix-up and rushdown will destroy Lisa. Ayane, Jann Lee and Hitomi are her worst matchups imo, Kokoro is another who has good mixup and her awesome CB game spells trouble in any matchup. Lisa has few options to keep rushdown characters out of her face other than crushing, or using :4::F::+::K: when she gets a little advantage.

I have little experience vs. good Mila players, but I'm sure when she starts her pressure game Lisa has poor options vs. her takedown/feints.

Lisa pretty much has one answer to everything: :1::P: Mix it up with :4::F::+::K: when they start countering

I've been having a lot less trouble against Hitomi now that I've been working 236f+p into my defense. Kills her sweeps (whilst simultaneously stopping attempts at offense at both close and mid range) because 'tomi doesn't duck during the animation. Power punches and 3f+k are still a problem though, and can be a chore if the opponent has a good enough handle on whiff punishment, Lisa's slow recovery frames on... everything leaves her shit out of luck if you mess up and whiff a poke.

Honestly I'd say against Hitomi 4H+K is your best friend. Get all up in your face <4H+K> BIATCH PLEASE! XD Hitomi shouldn't be much trouble from a distance if you can put carrera and some other sh** into play. But any match up is hard if you speaking for online. You can't react to sweeps well enough so yeah.

If anything it's hard ONLINE. At least for me. I play based on offline which is why I can't stand to play online. Half the stuff I can't even do online. Not to mention the lag makes the already crappy buffing worse.
