No they just didn't fix the actual problems with the core gameplay. Removing most of the kunai climbs? Those were new to 3 anyway and were just a terrible idea. Same with the ropes. Removing the slow mo parts? Same shit. How about fixing the fact that I effectively stun myself by attacking. You're telling me Ryu can't pull a slash to dodge all of a sudden? How about fixing the battles so they don't feel like arena matches? The AI being awful doesn't help anything.

Listening to reviews can only get you so far. I could give reasons for days about why RE didn't actually improve and weeks on why 3 itself was an awful Ninja Gaiden. There just isn't a point. I want to help steer the franchise back on course, not publicly attack it. NG isn't dead. The team just needs to realize why the hardcore among us loved it and the casuals still bought it. Ninja Gaiden and Black sold very well and satisfied everyone. The second also sold well despite some missteps. It went down from there largely due to a ridiculous iterative approach where stuff was added or removed but nothing was fixed or improved. Think about it. It's true.

That's what I mean by "fucked it up again."
Their policy since realizing what crap NG3 has been has been to make it more and more like 2 by cutting new stuff from 3 out and adding stuff back in from 2. What they don't realize is that 2 is still better. If 3 is to have any legitimacy, it would have to be re-tooled from the ground up by returning to the franchise's roots AND adding good additions unseen in previous installments.
By some perverted sense of optimism, I hoped Hayashi would have realized this for NG3RE. You're telling me otherwise.

I guess everyone just needs to play it for themselves. From what I've read its enjoyable, just not as good as the first 2.

I honestly don't think any NG game will ever surpass NG:Black. But dispite the flaws that are still apparent, NG3:RE looks to be miles better than Vanilla NG3 and a legit NG game even if it is still inferior to 1 and 2.

NG:Black happens to be my third favorite game of all-time, so it does set the level of comparison very high.

When it comes to adding stuff I like the additions of playable Ayane, Momiji, Kasumi, etc. But I don't like them being part of the campaign. That needs to be soley Ryu only. It's HIS game. Make the additional characters be part of the mission modes and such.

I'm not good at finding info about games but that new NG3 will be available for PS3 because I feel a bit ripped-off with this game... And I must say that was very hard to me finnishing NGS2 in the highest level available by default.
I only played 3 NG, first was NG for GameBoy that I knew by heart. Second NGS2 (I didn't have a PS3 or money to by NGS). And last but not least (I hope) NG3. Never had an XBOX but I used to have a 360 that I sold to purchase a PS3 because I wanted to play sooo much BlazBlue and 360 games are region locked.

There are rumors from a leaked Amazon roster that Xbox 360 & PS3 will get a "Ninja Giaden 3: Sigma," but there's no official confirmation on that. I understand your aggravation ,though.

So, you never had an xbox, but you were still able to sell one to buy a PS3, which you didn't have to play NGS, but were somehow still able to play NGS2?

Whaaaaaaaat?

I find it humorous how many people just disregarded my qualified opinion, only to immediately state they haven't played RE. Please exercise your reading comprehension muscle at least twice a week to prevent the onset of reading comprehension muscle atrophy. It's very much a thing.

@Brute, his post makes perfect sense. He's not a native English speaker so his sentence structure isn't quite the same, but if you give it another read and allow for implied time periods and such you'll find it makes sense.

Well, "qualified opinion" is by definition an interpretive opinion. One could similarly say that IGN is a "qualified judge" as well, and thus you have competing opinions. The grounds for which legitimacy of opinion is evaluated is dependent on the person, and usually centers around what they observe themselves. If people like what they see from RE, they'll want to side with those who liked it (at least until they can try it for themselves). If they're still ticked about NG3's vanilla release, they'll be looking for others who say RE is still nuts.

Not saying you're wrong, just that your rhetoric is pretty weak. Your claim of legitimacy also supports the opposing argument. And claiming others are not careful readers is premature given context.

I wasn't being anywhere near so dramatic. I meant I've played it and they obviously have not. I have grounds to speak from and they do not. No firsthand experience means no qualified opinion. You're still welcome to an opinion like everyone else, but I wasn't over-valuing it.

I think until each player gets a hand at it for themselves, we can't truly say. I mean, if we were accurate judges based on what we saw, none of us probably would have bought NG3 vanilla.

Kinda pointless in my case, as there's no way I'm getting a Wii U. Better reception is good news, but it is always a bummer to hear someone from the hardcore crowd less than satisfied.

I play every TN title one way or another. I played NG3 in an unfinished state nearly a year ahead of release, wrote a very long post that was filled with reasons I was concerned, yet still bought it at launch. This will be the first NG I don't buy, though luckily I have easy access to it and a Wii U.

I absolutely think everyone needs to play the game for themselves if they are curious. My posts here have generally been a direct response to questions, yours included, and always present opinions as my own. I haven't tried to stop anyone from buying or trying it. I've just been vocal with my disappointment.

Ok, let's see if I can make myself clear. My games consoles through the years:
1- Atari
2- Game Boy
3- Sega Genesis (Sega Mega Drive in Europe)
4- DreamCast
5- PS2
6- Xbox 360 ("360" for short)
7- PSP
8- PS3

With Xbox I was reffering to this.

I bought a Xbox 360 but when I found out that BlazBlue for Xbox 360 was region locked and PAL version hadn't(didn't?) have a release date or anything close I sold my Xbox 360 and bought a PS3 so I could import BlazBlue from the United States of America and play the game in my PAL Sony PS3 system. By the time I bought the PS3, NGS was discontinued, so I bought NGS2.

Please, correct me so I could write clearer and inprove my poor english.

Well, people didn't just "disregard" your qualified opinion. They're just saying they remain optimistic, even after your own take on it. That's not really lacking "reading comprehension."

Are you not able to order it off Amazon or anything? That's what I did. Got it quite cheap, too.

Pfff, 30€ for a used one might be expensive because I bought NGS2 Collectors Edition for 20€ brand new... And I already spent 40€ in Lolipop Chainsaw and Mad World 2's pre-order.
Maybe next year or next month... Whichever comes sooner (is this correct?)

Not disregarding your opinion here at all Cyber, I completely respect it. I'm just saying I'm still looking forward to it, I watched a playthrough on the destructoid stream and it looked really fun.
