Don't know why you keep pulling out the popularity card. if popularity mattered in making up a roster then ein would've made it in the game over less used characters like zack, brad, eliot, bayman, bass etc which obviously wasn't the case. as far as competitive play only offbeat won any majors/placed high with him and as far as i remember was the only notable ein player at tournaments while you act as if their is a whole army of high level ein players flooding tournaments which also wasn't the case.
we can go back in forth and argue over it all we want but in the end leon and ein users(along with tengu users)are in the same boat of being fucked over. our anger should be at TN not each other
I'm not playing any card, in fact I'm not arguing at all. The point of this post in fact was to
not argue and push for all characters. Something Leon supporters don't do, I clearly pointed out Leon supporters go "Leon should (
should) come back because he was a canon character with his own original style." "We don't really need Ein to come back, rather give more of his moves to Hitomi/Hayate" or "We don't need Ein to come back, we have Hitomi/Hayate" which is a double standard which was the point of this whole post. Not to turn into what I'm talking about and saying Ein should come back more than Leon.
My problem was Leon supports not having their own opinion on the character returning but rather saying he should or deserves to come back more than the other characters as if that's fact, and then using
story reasons of all things to justify it. Ein was more popular than all of the characters you named and didn't have too many top level players besides offbeat but you actually saw him at tourneys. Leon, you did not.
I wasn't using popularity and tourney usage as my reason why he should be in the game more, but stating that it's a more legit reason that he "deserves" to be in rather than his place in the storyline and being an actual "character" which Leon supporters have been using as their reasoning why he deserves a spot more than Ein. But he and Ein didn't make the cut because there wasn't time, and they felt to cut the characters that were most similar to other characters. Which was more or less reasonable although focus should have went to them before guest characters.
My
point was that we should come together and push for all the characters (feel free to push more for the char you want of course) instead of playing favorites, but in that process I guess I looked like a biased Ein supporter talking about biased Leon supporters. My bad if that's the case, but my point stands.
I'm not saying he shouldn't be in because he isn't popular. Just hilarious that so many people want him back in, but have completely ignored the character forever.
Reminds me of how hard fans were petitioning for Phoenix Wright in MVC3 only to never use him.
That annoys me to this day. At least people would have actually used Megaman. To be fair though, he DID suck. And then they patched out the only thing that made him useful. I wouldn't use him either.
