Tagging in and out cancels recovery, thus changing frame data as well as SE being removed from certain critical means it *gasps* changes frame data.

Yes there are some minor changes in frame data but nothing that can't be remembered or anything that creates a huge gap between the two modes and certainly nothing that can be confusing. So there is no more difference between the two mode's than there should be. And if you are saying that this minor changes are the reason you don't play the game then that just makes me think your whole intention is not, to play the game but rather to complain about it.

They did it for tag because you have 2x the life bar. I would wager that if they kept it for singles, you'd be back here crying that characters are broken because they take away your life bar in one combo. That isn't fun, it's stupid.

This is incorrect. The reason most of these combos work is because in Tag, you can cancel move recovery by tagging in the next character. THAT is what makes it so effective.

In singles they could and SHOULD still remove Stagger Escape from selected unholdable stuns so there is a much more controlled environment to do follow ups. It will make the game more tactical (Where in tag it makes it more combotastic) as you KNOW you want to avoid the sit down stun, or there is a guaranteed launch or CB.

That's how it should be, but with the other improvements, I'll take it. No I will not be switching to tag to be competitive. Single player will still be the standard. That's where the best competitive features should be available.

Should be very interesting where this will go from here as its basically now two games in a similar fashion to Tekken Tag Tournament 2's Solo and Tag modes.

But here's some more good news, missed in the above changelog summary-

Here is a subtle but very significant change in the new patch: Revised hit detection for rising kicks. When rising kicks and strikes hit at the same time, rising kicks now lose to strikes if the strike causes higher damage. (2/12/2013 UPDATE)


Well holy shit... study your frame data, you can now blow straight through wakeup kicks! Just like in VF, Wakeups are now punishable with the right timing of attacks in addition to Block/Punish.

Seriously, an awesome change.

This is very good indeed. I wonder if the attacks will have the same properties as in anyother counter hit situation

Does anyone know what critcal stuns don't have slow escape? Is it all sit down stuns? I don't mind the change so much. Tag has always been different but I know it's not as popular. Lack of Ranked tag Matches and limited stages have kept Tag mode from getting too popular.

Tell me about it. I'm tired of waiting. I'm not even playing at this point. I have bought TTT2...and I don't even like Tekken! I want to play DOA, but 1.02 online is torture. I want to try 1.03(A?!) with its improved online and system. We were supposed to be getting this 2 weeks ago...

Exactly. I mean I have friends to play with so it's not a total bust but come on! We're playing basically an inferior version of the game now. At least give us word on when we should be expecting it. It came out 2 days ago for PS3.

After seven years, also 1 additional month of waiting is nothing for me ;)

Well you can't really say the ignored you. They left in it for tag but removed it for single. Looks like that was TNs try to make both sides happy. Which is funny cauz most characters in tag didn't really had problems to chain combos in tag mode together. Basically it's just became easier now.

But who the hell plays tag. I play it from time to time just4fun, but single is the way to go IMO.

Starting now? Me.

Singles has nothing on this.
