BotA is one of my favorites, actually. The scene where Genshin basically gives Ryu his soul to fully power up the blade is pretty awesome and the red lightning is a cool effect.

True that, I just prefer for Genshin to wield it over Ryu... but he's dead. :/

I don't know why I can't appreciate it as much as I did in NG2...

Am I the only one who feel if Hayate was in NG he would just be Genshin? Genshin always reminded me of how I felt Hayate would fight if he was in the game. Except wind instead of that other power sh** lol.

Hayate doesn't use a reverse grip so he'd have to play differently. Watch his DoA4 ending to check it out; Ayane's too. He'd probably have a cool fighting style, actually.

Makes me wonder though. Kasumi and Ayane (as well as Ryu) utilize some of their DOA stuff such as grabs, attacks, and etc. I wonder how it'd roll out for Hayate. I'd just hope he gets some form of the Raijin and his 33T from DOA4...

I honestly never liked Genshin or his sword. Silly design on both parts.
I thought his hair was horns on his helmet for the longest time, lol.
I totally tripped balls during his cameo in NG3 when he somehow shrunk to midget size. He was several feet taller than Ryu in NG2. Wonder what happened...

The fact that I had to fight Genshin four times per playthrough with his hideous NG2 (360) camera didn't do much to warm me up to him, either.

Unless the DS lets me do the True Dragon Gleam I don't care about switching it out.

Played as Kasumi thanks to someone sharing their save.... very disappointing. I never watched any videos of her so maybe that's why. Seeing her chop up a bunch of soldiers covered in blood just doesn't feel right. And apparently she doesn't even get any backstory (I can only select her in chapter mode) so that makes her feel even more out of place.

Other than that I can say I've replayed the demo a few times so far. To compare, it took me like 3 tries to finish the NG3 demo just once. And not because I ever died but because I kept losing interest before I finished it. So kudos to the new TN for that at least.

If Ryu fought in reverse grip, I think it'd be far too weird... Genshin seems to be the only one that could pull it off... cause he's a "bad guy".

fighting alchemist on Master Ninja without UTs managing to take them out the trick is to stay on the ground and be sure you can move at a moments notice which is about all the warning you will get.i WILL beat these fuckers without relying on tricks!

Does anyone know if our raw karma will carry over to the main game? Like, if we grind the hell out of the demo and get a ton of extra karma points, will we just be able to buy everything from the get-go?

Karma is supposed to transfer, yes. I think that might cheapen it for you though lol. We already have most of the early skills so you don't have to buy them as it is.

Was thinking that for Ryu/Ayane. Not as much for Kasumi since you won't be using her on your initial run of a difficulty.

Makes sense, yeah. In theory, since you can level up any weapon to max as soon as you have it, the demo could make MN runs too easy. UN is another story since there are no shortcuts with the demo.

Is it just mo or can you free cancel with the block button in this game? I've been messing around trying to get a Underworld Drop launch then cancel into a shuriken toss. I've seen it done before but I'm not sure how to cancel into the toss.

You can cancel only recovery with a shuriken cancel. You can't cancel active frames.

We I got the shuriken to fire instead of the Underworld Drop (which seems to go off by itself whether I mash until i get there, or if i time my presses to make sure I don't over do it). The problem now is that the shuriken won't hit the falling enemy.

Either it hits ANY other enemy around him or completely doesn't pick him up. I think this was supposed to be a nerf to the recently loved Dragon Sword XXXXX shuriken kick shuriken kick flying swallow type stuff.

You can't be higher than your target to shuriken cancel and keep a combo going. You can use it to kill any recovery but if you're above them you shouldn't be doing it anyway.

Nah it's the complete opposite.

I'm launching them with xx->xy which is basically xxxxx for the Dragon Sword in NG2, but for the dual katana. After I do that, the shuriken should pick up on the enemy when I throw it and hit them in the air as far as I've seen in 2, but it seems that it's just not doing it. Only thing I can think of right now is the enemy might be dead but... I'm really not sure if that's the case.

I'm gunna try one more time, but I definitely understand how the cancel works now which is going to help a lot in general.

[Edit] Got it. It was because the enemies were dead of course, lol!
[Edit 2] Has block always truly free cancelled though? I don't remember being able to do it in NGS.

I'm sitting here spamming shuriken with O,L1, O, L1, over and over and it's giving me the first shuriken toss animation over and over so it is doing it now in this game for sure and it's even literally cancelling my combos when I add in L1. This is like, revolutionary.
