Eh Tekken had a rough release but it was due to delays, they've gotten way better supporting the game however. Who knows, DOA6 could also likely get delayed too, but either way they both have their issues in terms of how content and issues are handled so I can't really knock Namco, season passes are $25(characters and stages) wherein DOA charges near $100 for example for just costumes.
well I wouldn't go that far, as generic as some packs are, TN does do collab packs and certain copy paste packs justice if you can look past the costumes being only different due to color and one of three variations. But most of them aren't too unique, Namco is slow with their costume releases but they're unique for the most part and they don't charge you nearly as much as TN does
Tekken 7's handling of DLC had been terrible in the first year. It only seems better now because Namco wants to push those $40 season 2 passes to maintain Tekken's image in the limelight. (DOA's 'shittily' made costumes still look better than Tekken 7's character graphics).
Tekken has the fanbase tho so they can get away with it although they're sprucing up and cleaning house with the season 2 direction. And I can't say that about the costumes tbh, DOA5 has some bad costume/stage textures besides the collabs, DOA6 looks better than T7 but DOA5LR as a whole I can't see. But T7 has always been more generous about pricing tho since all items are universal
Nah. I'm looking at Tekken 7 right now and the game barely looks next gen (and I'm not even talking about the 720p XBone version which is a different story in itself). Howard Estate & Hammerhead look gorgeous however. The fact that DOA5LR looks better than Tekken 7 in any way is pretty appalling considering that DOA5LR is a port of a 2012ish PS3 title.
Namco and Tekken 7 are... Not very good, but the idea of a 25$ season pack that actually has more than one new character, stages, music, etc (aka content I personally care more about), is certainly more exciting than shoddily modelled, crappy textured huge sets of costumes.
Yeah, Negan is such a season pass seller. Also, having certain customization things like hairstyles and clothing locked behind a $40 Season pass quite frankly is bullshit, especially if you would only want something like that and don't care about the other stuff. And again, the 'shoddily modelled crappy textured costumes' still look better than Tekken 7's visuals.
I do not even own Tekken 7, never will and will never buy its season passes.
I'm trying to make a point:
DOA not only does not have good DLC, it has overpriced season passes with very few substantial content.
And who cares if the outfits look better than Tekken. Everything looks better than Tekken. The DOA DLC outfits look bad in the context of DOA.
