There's that, the removal of stagger escape, and other changes. Just look at old school GG's transition to GGxrd, every BB change between games, UNIEST with it's simple inputs and auto combos, along with SC6's changes. All these games had major and "casual", changes through their lives but they are still as competitive as ever. Even BBTAG and DBZF are competitive.
Then you look at DOA6 and basically any change will either make or break the game. Was the series that bad that any change can ruin it? It seems like DOA is the most unstable series. And keep in mind that the changes in GG, BB, and UNIEST were huge but no one really questioned their competitiveness. Look at where those games are now.
It's just people being "doom and gloom" about changes. DBFZ and BBTAG got a bunch of negative reception pre-release for autocombos and superdash for DBFZ. SC6 still gets crap for that Reversal Edge garbage and other stuff. DOA6 changes things, but when its actually out, people will realize that they don't understand the extent of the mechanics and how the game is essentially the same just slightly different.
I like that the DOA6 changes actually add to the game. Most times, when a fighting game gets more "casual" it just removes or reduces the game. But Fatal Rush and everything with the meter increases depth I think
People always like to bitch, DOA is still DOA. People are just bitching because they can’t benefit from the free damage Critical bursts, powerlaunchers and power blows.
