I think DOA had a good OST for past games with character themes but when they shifted to stage themes in DOA5, the direction they went in was darker but aged. In DOA6 it's way better but I still feel as if the sound direction they're using is aged and kinda toned down in comparison to more hardcore ost like what Tekken did for T7 and such

It's defo old school in 6. I get that Vanilla VF5 feeling for a couple songs. https://youtu.be/TUBhvWEU4S0 Aged really but man i love it in its execution.

Doa4s soundtrack was my favorite.

DOA2's soundtrack is outstanding, but a little dated now (DOA3 & DOA4 are also solid, though not exactly perfect or anything). DOA5's is terrible, but DOA5U released some excellent new themes (<3 Fallen Leaves & Gaia). Compared to other fighters, I'd say it's mostly on par. Killer Instinct 3 has an excellent soundtrack however. SC used to be good with SC2 & 3, but went downhill in later installments.

With that said, it's crazy how I played the shit out of the DOA6 beta but not once ever got tired of DOA Colosseum's theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z46oL_yvRAc It's just epic. From what I've gathered from videos so far, DOA6 soundtrack will likely be better than DOA5's (though that's a low bar admittedly lol).

I don't think Tekken soundtracks are that good in general, too much dubstep nonsense plagues it. Just a good song here or there (<3 Moonlit Wilderness).

First few games were amazing. Later games not so much.

@FoN that's fact, 6 is shaping up good. Tekken 7 too much dubstep. I like electronic but never digged too much dubstep. More into house, trance, drum n bass.

There are themes in T7 that aren't dubstep, for instance Lars' theme, while other themes aren't purely dubstep like they were in Tag 2. DOA1-3 has great osts, 4's felt okay but not as good as DOA1-3's, 5's is quite forgettable and from what I've heard so far 6's seems to be looking a bit better than 4's ost. If I have to rate my top 3 fighting game osts it'd be like this: 1.DOA1-3, 2.T3-T5:DR, 3.BB/GG.

Old DOA had better music than the recent ones, but overall it's middle of the road
SC2/3 were excellent and 5 also had some good hits; the series I trust the most in terms of music
The electronic in earlier Tekken games were actually great, but the later games had way more flaccid wub than they should
