I personally wouldn't be against them coming back, but I definitely wouldn't want Naotora Ii or Mai coming back. Naotora was fun at first but just didnt feel right, and Mai was just annoying to fight against for me personally... but then again i didnt have much experience fighting her since by that time I hadn't played much DOA in a while

I'm all for no guest characters.

i can respect that, i would rather see new original characters than guests(though i guess it depends on the guest but still)

VFs no unless it's strictly Akira but I'm open to guest characters. I wouldn't mind Naotora back but since she won't likely be returning they should add someone from a popular game like Lili or Sakura or some other genre :-D

I think they could make it work, especially since Itagaki isn't around to hate on tekken anymore xD plus with how DOA6 is more gritty like the other fighters now they could do it, although a SF character or someone from another game where bruises and clothes tearing would be a better choice imo

The more I think about, the more that I wouldn't mind if the VF's returned in DOA6. They fit into DOA5 reasonably well, provide a relatively unique playstyle compared to the standard DOA characters and help boost the relevancy of VF while adding some extra flavour to DOA.

Aoi for DOA6 would be nice.

VF's coming back is a pipe dream. Guest characters are tricky for DOA but they converted Mai well. I'd like to see some Tekken characters actually. Jin and Jun. Jin's style would be amazing converted to DOA and Jun would be crazy fanservice from more perspective than one. Throw in Heihachi or Kazuya for a 3rd if you like.

Honestly, once Team Ninja decide to add guest characters to DOA6, the VF's should definitely get considered. Though I'm totally cool with TN's "no guests at launch" approach to keep the focus on DOA. But yeah, guests characters didn't hurt DOA5LR (well except maybe Naotora *shivers*), and won't hurt DOA6 if done right. Especially once DOA6 has established its identity.

Well... we had the same 4 VF guests for over 5 years now, I would like some new VF guests if they ever decide to feature them in DOA again. I would like to see Mai return for DOA6, she was a fun character. I would really like to see Jin (Tekken), Xiaoyu (Tekken), Kiryu (Yakuza), and Goh (VF) make an appearance as well.

Interesting enough is that guests from a same game series have returned in other games before, but it was extremely rare for "same guest characters". Meaning that if someone wanted Akira and the other 3 back it'll take a miracle. If VFs were to return they'd likely get replaced by another set of VF characters. Same with Mai, there is an extremely high chance she won't come back except for another SNK replacement.

I'm against guest characters, I'd rather have new original DOA characters that I know will stick around. That said, if they *have* to have guests, I'd want something totally bonkers like FemShep, Jill Valentine, or Faith Connors from Mirror's Edge.

Unless TN does what Smash does with "Everyone is BACK", which is one of the very few series where same guest characters return within the same series. Course Nintendo has bank behind them and well, TN doesn't have bank like that.

I'd like to see Tekken characters in DOA one day to end that silly beef that doesn't exist between DOA and Tekken, as well as show Harada how their characters can look in DOA compared to T7

another big problem with guest characters is that once the game is done and another comes out, you basically lose your main if your main was the guest character :/ Also, guests who dont come from other fighting games essentially need to be done from the ground up which is way more work. Faith Connors would be a cool addition and would fit the look of DOA imo...

Not sure why anyone would be against it. People seem to forget that there are good guest characters and there are bad ones. Guest characters technically speaking are "new" characters.

The issue is that people start asking for characters that do not make sense at all. Just like those characters you just mentioned. I mean really.. Mass Effect, Jill from RE and Mirror's Edge? lol.

The same could be said for original new characters. They have to start from "scratch". There is literal no logic applied aside that a guest character is from another series that people may have heard of, but once they enter a completely different series, by default and term is a "new" character. Mai is a perfect example of a character who plays nothing like her Fatal Fury/KOF counterpart, therefore new really.

well, Spartan 458 didnt make sense for DOA4 and it happened... i actually really enjoyed spartan too lmfao the first time i saw the sticky grenade throw i was just in shock. I would use MK as an example of having a ton of random guest characters but they actually fit the aspect of fatalities and such being all horror movie bad guys.
