Not the answer I wanted, Brute lol to me it goes, Causal, noob, intermediate, pro.

He calls me a causal just because I chose to not like or play particular fgs after trying them. I know when a game isn't right by me, win or lose.

If I don't find a connection with the games' characters or universe. What's the point. I like these series' competitive nature, Dead or Alive, Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter, pre-t6 Tekken Post-MK9 MK. despite me not doing bad competitively. Just don't prefer Tek. GG, i could get nice if I felt the need to, considering I have played anime before but don't like em enough but it's more about the lack of players.

Don't like the extra shit with BBtag, I prefer 1v1. Didn't hate KoF14, and can get into it but like GG lack of players, see no point outside of offline.

I’m actually curious as to the need for the distinction in the first place. I feel like any distinction besides pro vs amateur is going to be arbitrary.

With that in mind, to me a casual is just anyone who isn’t playing in, like, tournaments. They’re non-pro. Casual means people who play the game for fun and not awards or money, which is like 99% of players.

A casual gamer is someone who plays a game with no competitive intent whatsoever. They are quite frankly "just playing for fun", which is perfectly fine. My only issue are with casuals that whine and effectively expect their demands to get catered too over the "competitive" players.

Causal is still seen as an insult. I want to do tournaments. I've played SF4, DoA and VF tournaments but did it make me feel any more connection to the game than i already had? No. I chose to be there because I liked the crowd- as with DoA and online Didn't cut it. Same with VF. I never felt the true urge to play and get better before until VF. DoA too but wish I did more.

Baji and FoN are correct. It should also be noted that most self-identified "competitive" players really have the mindset of a casual player, and only show up to offline scenes and compete because they find it fun. It's a very small crowd that only shows up to win. And frankly, they're mostly assholes.

I whine and get salty but I would never ask a dev to change it because I know it's my fault.
