Sony put their dick on it. Only reason Tekken was ever successful. Before EVO last year Tekken was looking deader than dead so it's always some mainstream thing putting that clunky ass series on the map. Virtua Fighter... too many years waiting to care anymore.
I wonder what’s so great about Tekken besides it being a legacy fighting game. I feel like Tekken is only popular because it never been through drastic changes to the gameplay. I think familiarity is also one of the reasons why tekken is popular, not because it’s necessarily that good. Fun game regardless though.
I’ve never played VF so I can’t really say anything about the gameplay.
Yeah no way I can put Tekken over the Soul series. And @Onyroki VF is very good for gameplay and an extremely steep series in comparison to other 3D fighters, but I still prefer DOA5 and prior games to it.
Hmm... Honestly, something like VF5:FS is about as solid as you can get with an FG, the thing is that the game has no casual appeal whatsoever as a primary issue along with the stigma of "WAH... It's too hard!". For a VF6, SEGA would have to focus heavily on adding casual appeal, while not compromising the rock solid mechanics. A story mode could be a start.
Absolutely. It's what a 3D fighting game is meant to be like. No supers, wacky effects and it actually tries to imitate real martial art styles with accuracy. Wish they'd bring it to PS4 already. The movement in VF is smooth and has a lot of flow, I don't know how to explain it.
@Force_of_Nature crazy thing is 5FS ain't even hard. People just saw VF4 was "hard" (saw multi throw escaping one time) and now thinks VF as a whole is hard.
But yeah, VF great game. 2 through 5 and variants are varied enough to find a style of play you want.
