This is very unfortunate. I wouldn't mind NOT having tag if the single content was enough. But it is pretty limited. Bad decision.
They should make a seperate game dedicated to Tag/Team Battle with the old anime art direction, reusing all the past fanservicey stages and costumes and 40+ characters. This way we would have one game for competition, one game for casual.
I hope it returns in a ultimate version of DOA6, tag wasn’t competitively very good, but it was a fun mode. Which to me is more important than something being good for competitive play.
1. Don’t make fun of people with autism.
2. People actually did play tag, and even if not many people played it doesn’t mean it should’ve been removed. At first I didn’t care that tag was gone but now I do miss it from time to time because it was fun tagging with friends up. I don’t really like games removing things that aren’t worth removing. Tag was pretty popular among casual players.
This makes no sense and their excuse is bad since DOA 6 has a lot of reuse assets from DOA 5. Also the reason no one played Tag in 5 was because of how poorly balanced it was.
@Onryoki No one played tag. Since 2U its been the least played mode online. Why waste time and money on a mode that probably less than 1% of the community played in a game where you barely have a budget to begin with.
I played tag plenty of times in 5, aqua twister and subboy frequently hosted tag lobbies. Again, even if it wasn’t played as much doesn’t mean it should’ve been removed. A situation I like to compare to this is the removal of the tutorial in T7. Just because many people didn’t use it doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be there.
Their budget could’ve been bigger if they spent that money they got from the DLC right. They also could’ve waited with DOA6 so they would have a bigger budget.
Using budget as an excuse to as of why a game mode should be removed or not is bs. Especially since they didn’t even develop the game themselves but a 3rd party company in Vietnam did.
@Onryoki They don't have exact control on where to spend it either, ask Mr. Wah. Profitable returns can go to other projects (Nioh etc.) as long as the employers get payed when revenue obtained goes through the hub.
For some unknown reason people think Shimbori is the main antagonist to this developmental hell story when there is a bigger antagonist at hand. Marketing & KT.
@KwonJigglypuff I'd imagine that part of that reason was the issue balancing tag around Fatal Rush and Break Blow like Manny+few others mentioned on FB. In a way would make sense. Obviously balance shouldn't matter to people who play casually, though I would imagine that TN feels there has to be some balance to it.
It's not a situation where people can just go "well then make tag balanced for DOA6 then", not everything is all sunshine for simplicity. Though I will say that it does leave the game even more of a state of incomplete when the game has tag titles already on it but yet discontinue tag.
