Yeah the sneak ones. Kasumi, Phase-4 etc. It's not even a move that actually crushes high, it's their hurtbox that sneak under jabs. Especially vs big characters.
They'll never fix that unfortunately since TN's balance team is heavily mediocre.
Yeah, Kasumi gets a lot of preferential treatment (4P and even 6P "crushing" jabs...) and of course Phase-4 inherits her hitboxes & hurtboxes. Eh, TN's always been kinda like this with balancing. Remember the Itagaki way? "A wrestler should never beat a ninja".
If a character is fast it should be fast at everything: jabs, mids, kicks and throws. It doesn't make sense to be speed tier but have slower throws than slower strikers. Give fast characters the speed advantage at everything but nerf their damage. Likewise, slow strikers (like grapplers) should have slower throws as well but with bigger damage, on combos and throws, when they get their chance.
It's about consistency, you can't strike fast and throw slow and vice versa; or have fast jabs and slow mids. It amuses me when I see comments about Eliot's speed; Eliot is NOT a fast character just because he has and i10 jab, his mids are complete garbage, I think the worst mids in the game. How tf does he have an i10 jab and i14-15 mids, makes no sense.
If there are to be i9 jabs in the game, they should be reserved for the male characters. I don't know where this idea comes from, that females should be faster than males in a fighting game.
We're talking about a video game where people are fucking teleporting....who gives a shit about realities of gender differences. That's not how you balance a fighting game.
So your idea of balance is to make everyone the same speed? TN clearly took gender into consideration when they assigned a certain speed to a character, even if it's opposite to reality.
They'll never fix that unfortunately since TN's balance team is heavily mediocre.
