1) Mid tier is a good place to be. In a balanced game, everyone is mid tier.
2) Two wrongs don't make a right, but people have been complaining about Leifang's stupid hurtboxes for years.
Kasumi’s buffs were only increased launch height to stabilise some follow ups. Rig is only a bit safer now. They’re still balanced characters. Kasumi is strong but she’s not that strong.
The only reason why I'd want the crush property removed from Ayane's 4P is so that majority of online Ayane's don't crutch on it. Interesting, 4P, doesn't really hi crush that well in close range, and the mid crush only works if there's some space. Making a character like Ayane mid-tier or lower would be dumb considering how much work Ayane players have to do to beat competent opponents.
Everyone claims their character is hard to use, so even if you placate all the self-congratulatory crybabies, everyone still winds up in mid tier once genuine balancing is in place.

You are the first ones i saw who say that Rig is not top, interesting! I think he and Kasumi are the only top tiers. Rig is already super safe and with plenty of guard breaks, Kasumi has everything and even great throws. Busa has at least shit neutral and only ppl who are busy doing firecracker combos complain about him since labbing 6k and handstand punishment is boring
Personally I don’t believe in tiers that much, nor care for them. Every character is good in some way. And every character has its weaknesses. Some characters do have more tools, but people should learn how to work with, with what they got.
@Brute, I have a broader understanding of masochism than you believe. I know the term has a meaning outside of a BDSM fetish, such as having a penchant for repetitive trial and error to overcome grueling, difficult tasks. But since the direction of the topic seemed to suggest it was leaning toward the fetishistic meaning, I presumed it as such.
