I only have a hard time feeling part of it when it comes to bandwagon type stuff since I don't really follow those, like how most may look down on other fighters or saying overtly negative things about the game, like I don't really care for stuff like that and tend brush past stuff like that since it can turn nasty if you disagree

I have difficulty feeling like I'm a part of any human communities, but I haven't found the DOA community to be particularly alienating.

Yes, I have an extremely hard time fitting in the competitive DOA community now compared to 8 years ago. The casual community, not so much.

@Glitterati As a lonewolf i do that already but you know sometimes its nice to feel you are part of something. At times i feel i'm missing something great with this lifestyle.

i think to feel a sense of community you have to be willing to do two things,

1 get out there to offline events
2 open yourself up to ppl

cause trust me dawg i used to do the lone wolf thing when i started going to tournaments, and frankly it was lame, yeah i got to play offline, but i just played my matches and left the venue w/o interacting with anyone, it sucked

but when i started going to tournaments and actually making an effort to talk to people, that's kinda what gets the ball rolling, cause the next thing you know you start finding out that there are ppl in your area who are also DOA players, then you start going over to their houses to play for hours on end, then they introduce you to other ppl nearby who also play the game and you start playing with them,

slowly working your way into your local DOA network, and then the next thing you know, 5 of your are in a car driving off to some out of state local/tournament to rep your area and your bonds grow stronger, not just with your local peeps but the ppl you came to play against, and that's kinda when the sense of community really starts to build up

The thing is i dont live in place that has a big DOA scene. You can probably count all players we have with two hands. I also feel esport for fg isnt a really big thing in my country yet. People are not willing to travel places because of that.

Also it seems like my country's people are getting tired of DOA6 marketing as well. Seems like the last people that wanted to support the game are starting to lose interest. Sad times.

Hmm, i dunno about the doa scene in Finland (only fighting game I know that's big out there is smash), but you've mentioned b4 that there are locals and tournaments held close to your area so I would start off with going to those ave trying to network with other doa players
