It works the same way in video games, or any sort of japanese manga/anime. Its enough if you look at, heck, every single fighting game for example and you'll rarely find female characters who are above 30 and even if they are they look like 27-28 year olds max.

but she's an old lady who actually looks like an old lady, so it's makes sense when they make grandma jokes, im talking those scenarios where a women is written as old but their appearance says otherwise, which happens alooot. the most recent example that comes to mind to is Lotus from 999 which im playing right now

Its kind of an otaku, niche meme in Japan that any woman not married by 25 is a "Christmas Cake". It's an idea that's cought on and taken seriously with incel type guys online. I'm actually having a discussion on another site right now with someone who says he doesn't understand the appeal of older women because older = less fertile = worthless. :/ (I mean, that's the literal sexism)

The problem also stems from the idea that any female character's worth is dependant on her physical attractiveness. Why can't they just be seen as people like guys? I mean, I'm glad to bring up the Gouketsuji sisters whatever chance I get because they're badass/awesome:

To be fair, guys can be considered "old men" or "grandpa's" in a derogatory sense. Kazuma Kiryu gets it a lot in the Yakuza series.
