However, I realize my sentiment could be used as precedent for elitism. Which I have done to others who think it's just mashing to win or to people who think they're so skilled in their respective games that don't require as much motor skills than FGs.

I also like fighting game because I love having a gallery of characters to pick, with different stories, background, fashion. And they were the first game for me to feature females so much (especially DOA). I like the variety.

And I also like local multiplayer games. I like to share the experience.

I enjoy 1vs1 games because I don't like the feeling of letting my team down or having to deal with people shouting at each other in my free time. I like HS but I find RNG rage inducing even if your skills determine your performance over many matches. I don’t like StarCraft because using barracks and other buildings to block terrain feels weird to me. So fighting games are the only PVP games that I play at this point.

I like FG's because they click with me more than other genres and there's a greater "sense of wonder". In something like Overwatch, you pretty much have to follow the meta.
