As much as people like to shit on DOA6, because it's the cool thing to do, the changes to the stun system was actually one of the correct improvements that DOA6 made over DOA5. (The meter system is another story altogether...). I've seen the mentality before, when people "dislike" something, they feel the need to shit on every little thing about it.

Also, DOA has never had a significantly large tournament scene before compared to other FG's. DOA6's tournament numbers in 2019, as lacking as they were, weren't exactly really behind the tournament numbers of previous DOA's.

Because DoA was about mixup, and manipulating your people within the stun to get different options. Why force people to RNG in stun now? It takes away player uniqueness. 6 has Break Hold which forces the ATTACKER to make a decision and launch/throw. Mechanics should enhance the game not control meta THAT STRONGLY. It let's people avoid thinking too hard. Fuck what the FGC thinks, this FSD. Game has 0 personality now

Hey, don't get me wrong, I don't really like DOA6 as a whole, but I actually liked the direction the game was going with the stun system. I.e. more focus around neutral, and less on stunning the opponent for what can feel like a good chunk of the match. I admit that I miss the SDS of DOA5LR, though I'm cool with Fatal Stuns in DOA6.

Let the player create the Yomi with the mechanics as a plus, not solely the mechanics like we're playing musical chairs.

With regards to the FGC, as much as I hate to say it but DOA isn't a large enough series to really try and get by on its own and "Fuck the FGC". It's not Smash Bros. for instance. However, I would love it of course if DOA could get big enough to get by on its own.

I liked the idea too but meter ruins that. You're going to have to accept reality. Also, you can play DoA5 w/o using CB or aything and it feels like a DoA still Can't do that with DoA6, you just hit people with how limited and/or fast in returns to neutral. You HAVE to use the meter. Stages too big for neutral to last that long.

Also with meter, I don't hate the idea of meter in DOA6, I just think it could be tweaked a bit.

@Force_of_Nature I dont hate doa6 because is a cool thing to do now, i hated doa6 right from the betas(ask the other frenchs players or Gehatkbal) and to this day i still hate doa6 with passion,because of doa6 i stopped being a top EU tourney player,supporting the doa tourney scene and moved to others FGs
i rather even play doa4 instead of doa6,at least doa4 had no stupid assisted mechanics

The stun game in doa6 is poor and has no depth at all

stun to launch boring meta,in doa5 if you want more dmg you are forced to play the stun game,learn to SE,your non SE combos,setups,launcher lvl etc...

the mechanics in doa6 are for assisted players who cant deal with the stun game and mostly did not know how to SE

FR/FSDS are CBs with no need for stun game,in doa5 you need to play the stun game to earn your CB

BH is your no brain option to get out of stun because guessing right is hard to do

BB your easy to land auto aiming PB but with a sabaki and + on block,the risk reward is fucked up, in doa5 you need setup to land your PB or PL,PBs can be used to make your oppenent hold or try to do them raw and being punished

bad ground game,and the ground still suck even with the update

they removed SDS replaced them with nothing,some moves that were useful became fucking useless in doa6,they changed some type of stun giving the right to instant hold before you had to SE if you wanted to hold or block

Its just funny or sad to me when i read people saying doa6 stun game is way better than doa5lr,most of the top players played doa6 only because of the world tour money(or they wanted a free travel to visit Japan lol) and not because its a good game...

Interesting because the "guess during stun" is a major aspect of DOA that the general FGC hates. DOA5LR had an excessive stun game. Slow Escape was a silly mechanic that made frame advantages feel inconsistent during stun (I.e There's a big difference between slow stagger escape and fastest stagger for instance). Stuns are a lot more consistent in DOA6. +20 is +20, not +13 sometimes because of slow escape.

I get it that people hate DOA6, but stuff like critical burst and excessive stuns were silly. DOA5's sidestep system is still atrocious. And DOA4 was just plain stupid competitively. I will also point out that I hate how BB's are implemented in DOA6.

Simplification of doa will bring nothing good, i have friends from others FGs and the reason why they dont want to play doa is the triangular system/stun game, DOA is just not a game for them

I dont want doa to lose his identity to be mainstream,i know how SE works being able to SE max or super SE max is part of the skill gap and SE add deph to the stun game,removing SE not only lower the skill gap but also make the stun game more boring
