Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he the same guy that talked shit about the other fighting games (also thinks that his game is the best because of that iirc?) just because the netcode of his game was better at the time and still is better than all the other game's netcode? Which is true but just because his game is a better game online it doesn't automatically make it a better game offline.

Also, did he say the "i did it to bring awareness cause I think people are scared to talk about the issue" part on another stream of his? Because I don't see him saying that in his apology tweet anywhere, unless if it is buried in the comments section of said apology tweet.

First one to like the post but I'ma say something now. To be honest, I kinda blame the guy talking about, "Suffocating, suffocating." I'm surprised people aren't saying those were a poor choice of words as well. Context, sure but considering the events these weeks. I wasn't thinking about a bad joke like Mike's but saying that made me think of George too. Felt like bait.

Like who's to say the other guy wasn't thinking about Floyd when he made that, "Suffocating, suffocating." comment. Seems way too relevant.

@Hold_Junkie93 I'll admit, those specific choice of words were kinda suspect, but even if it was a bait, anyone with common sense would of just passed them by, but not MikeZ, naw gotta take the oppurtunity to make a jokey reference to unjustified murder of a black man by police, COMEDY

@Uberprinny I don't think it's that complicated, but then again, I am black and I do live in America, so i do have a personal stake in what's going on, and not just for me, but for my family, my friends, my unborn children, and everyone who shares the same skin color, we all have a stake in this, because unjustified Police brutality toward black people has been a thing for a loooooooong time

before George Floyd, before Micheal Brown, Before John Crawford III, before Rodney King, before Emmet Till, and starting with Slave patrolls, black people have been unjustly been fucked with by government authorities since America was a thing, and it's finally reached the boiling point where people are just not gonna take it anymore

That's why looking at George Floyd's like it's an isolated incident that's causing civil unrest is wrong, his death is just the latest in a long and ugly history of unjustified police violence towards blacks going unpunished, as for the "why all this violence? can't people just protest peacefully, violence is never the answer", here's the thing

In that case yeah, that's even worse. People can say dumb things from time to time, hell, I'm a person who usually talks first and then thinks about what he said afterwards, at times putting myself in a situation where I have to explain myself out of the mess I've created. Most people who are this way are relatively careful about their choices of words afterwards in regards to the matter that they commented on.

we've been peacefully protesting, for longer than you know, we march, we hold vigils, we cry into each others arms whenever this happens and nothing changes, another black person get unjustly murdered by the authority that's supposed to protect them, said authority faces no consequences and that's just how it is for us in America

Like, everyone is talking about this on every social media site right now. He might've tried to quickly give an explanation on stream as to why he did what he did but this wasn't it, wouldn't be surprised if many players who wanted to give SG a shot or wanted to take it more seriously won't do that anymore. I'll be the guy who'll play the game for the sake of enjoying the game despite the creator's screw up.

and why is this seen as okay? because as far as America is concerned the life of a black person is just not all that important, so who cares if we get murdered by cops. don't need to charge cops with murder if they unjustly kill a black person, it's not all that serious, no need to install police reform if the victim is black, it's not all that serious. This is the America we live in

"but camel, innocent white ppl get killed by Police too" YOU SHOULDN:T BE OKAY WITH THAT, Police brutality towards innocents is an issue we ALL should worried about, regardless of whether George Floyd shares your skin color or not

It was a bad slip up by MikeZ. Don't think he's racist or anything, but yeah, you gotta watch your mouth on stream. At the time, he might've thought that it was a little joke for the stream, but still tasteless.

I do give props to the apologies and donation intentions if he is sincere behind his actions. For his sake, you don't want any potential negative exposure around Skullgirls, which is gaining some momentum as one of the few FG's with proper GGPO rollback netcode.
