To me it seems that a lot of people like Max or Koefficient find it funny in order to misspell japanese names, which I guess comes from Ryu's name having been pronounced Raiu for a long time by American fans, a thing some still do to this very day and since some cannot think up a "funny" mispronunciation quickly, they might accidentally use the N word as a way to mispronounce some names, like Nago's.
