Exactly why Shimbori needs to be replaced. Adding a guest to a game just because it’s a “cute girl” is a crock of shit. Guests should be carefully picked, that have something to offer to the series and fit the game. The VF are great guests because of that, they fit the game and offered something different to the series. Girls being cute just isn’t it. Shimbori is pushing doa even further into the ground.

When Shimbori was project lead on DOA5, we had Akira, and later Jacky. 50% of the guests were male, and it was clear that they were passion picks on behalf of Shimbori who seems to worship VF.

Then Koei stepped in, put someone else in charge for DOA6 (Yamima) but kept Shimbori on "officially" for PR, then clearly started calling the shots, forcing an onslaught of DLC characters, which Shimbori has gone on record saying he did not approve of prior to Koei's finger-fucking of TN's creativity.

Shimbori doesn't need to be replaced. Koei just needs to fuck off and let TN do what they do best: make video games without corporate dickheads trying to ruin everything with their boomer market research.

I'm really happy Koei fucked DOA into an eternal state of shitty softcore porn volleyball gacha and killed off any chances of a proper fighter forever.

Fuck gachas boring gambling simulator for clowns who don't know how to spend money. Doa6 and Doax are practically the same game at this point, great to know that KT is killing the series.

@Brute Whoever was responsible with DOA6 direction ("cool & mature, characters less sexual") whether its Shimbori or KT Executives themselves were better off not handling the DOA franchise, and create entire new IP. Also the day TN works without corporate people is the day they don't work in the game industry, along with KT still keeping DOA franchise.

Did we not read the same piece? Because iirc it was Shimbori that said those things when asked, not Yamima. Yamima is responsible for everything else, but Shimbori is the one responsible for these interviews and public statements.

So doa6 is persona 5 vanilla and Doa x is persona 5 royal got it. Should just abandon 1 for the other no point in KT having the same mindset for Doax onto Doa6 "cute girls" smh. And if both are treated the same while doax gets more updates, You rather everyone play the current version of doa which is VV with more content?.

So, you're Shimbori. You want to make Akira Yuki. Koei (your boss) tells you "No. Akira isn't a cute girl. Only cuties sell. Bamco." So they force you to make "cute" guest characters, then tell you to go do an interview, where you are asked "How are the guest characters being chosen?" How do you respond?

Doesn't really matter at this point who directs DOA from the current Team NINJA. One thing I give Itagaki credit for is that he had a backbone. He just did what he wanted and stood by that vision. I just wish he wasn't so anti-competitive towards FGs.

@oMASTER LEGENDo More like DOAX is how you make a sequel and DOA6 is how you don't make a sequel. The only reason to abandon something, is due to what reaction (mainly fans) they got along with how much money they were making ("cute girls" is default approach for any new DOA game). If DOA6 is the same they would've had same type of outfit designs & extra features that DOAX currently has.

Ideally both genres can still exist to be worth spending $92 on Season Pass or V-Stones.
