^ Sad but true. But koei is master of sepukku. They lured their target audience to the free bikini gacha game, cut the support and alienated many players in that time. Like, nerfing Bayman because Rikuto won a tournament? Oh noes, he didn't play a character with milky moos, better nerf him...i prefer VF, MK and doa, so i still lurk here to remember the great times
Yes. Seeing as there isn't a new game, I will continue to do so by promoting other games, it's characters, and at the same time help people feel good about playing a game they might be missing out or in general play anything else other than DOA all the time.
It's a bit sad but nothing FSD can really do about it, and TN just wants/needs to make money. It's on us as consumers and we simply don't like the product being presented. Unfortunate really.
I rarely talk about DOA these days because there aren't too many new things I can say about it, there's not much happening with 5 or 6 so that doesn't help either. Fighting games are rising in fame but they're still not played by many and most casuals don't want to get into any of them, while others who're familiar with one or two fighting games might not play other ones.
That's why I talk about other fighting games pretty much everywhere I can, it'd be nice if people who didn't play fighting games would try a few out while players who're playing some would try out other ones too. A lot of them would deserve the recognition that Tekken7 or SFV are receiving + there would be more players to go against in those games or in fighting games in general.
Any fighting game deserves more fame than T7 tbh. There is this great new weapon fighter "hellish quart" or so, super fun and more on the realistic site, but it's more exciting than pay2win 7 and the others
I'm content just playing Dissidia outside of DOA as far as other fighting games go. I mean, there's not gonna be a Darkstalkers or a VF game anytime soon.
The thing about fighting games is that often the pro community of any FG community isn’t that inclusive to casuals or try to help them. Fighting games are extremely fun, but in general they’re not casual friendly because that’s not what fighting games are about. Fighting games are and always will be competition oriented. Which is why FG’s should never be simplified to get more casuals to join.
I'll admit that I talk about numerous fighting games because I don't like the notion of limiting yourself to just one fighting game. If you only play DOA, you'll see things through a DOA lens, if you only play SC, you'll only see things through a SC lens, if you only play Tekken, then you'll only see things through a KBD, df+1,2,3,4, blah, blah, blah lens.
If you play numerous fighting games, you'll indirectly strengthen your knowledge of fighting games in general. If I never discovered and played VF, my DOA mentality and growth would've stunted.
