what happened with him again? I remember he was accused of battery against his ex-wife and they went to court, but I didn't hear anything after that, like what was the actual result of the case?
Girl, this is why I keep saying cancel culture does not exist. @Onryoki - We found out a few years back that he was physically abusive towards his wife.
That's sad tbh, they'll let people like him come back after a time out with them likely not changing but they'll up and silence and can people who say the N word from the song or say something they don't like xD But if he's changed at least, I guess he should return but ideally with some restrictions. You can't punish someone forever, but have them learn a lesson so they actually change and reform
To make things worse, he rigged a SFV tournament with a 500$ prize meant to encourage "new players" who entered into fighting games/fgc a bit more than half a year ago, here's the short version of the story

@Camel with 2 thumbs From what I've read, he was temporarily restrained after his ex-wife got a medical note from a hospital saying that she had sustained brusing and her wrist was injured, he got fined for roughly 600$ and that was the end of it, however, I've heard and seen stuff that would suggest that he might've wanted to do something worse to her and then there's also his version of the story.
Before this info came to light I remember Infil saying that his wife wouldn't leave him alone or wouldn't want to divorce from him and she even destroyed some of his objects like his trophies for example but after I found out what really happened between them plus him rigging brackets for a tournament meant for complete beginners, the guy can't be trusted and should be banned from tournaments indefinitely.
Or after he proved that he changed for the better (which most people don't end up doing most of the times) they should let him compete and ban him for maybe more than a year or even indefinitely if he does something wrong again.
yeech, sounds like a case of two people who don't need to be together at all
as for the year long ban, the thing with that is that there is no hardline ruleset when it comes to bans, not just from Capcom but alot of fighting game companies, thats why punishments across the board seem so random and inconsistent
we've seen it time and time again from the Chris G controversy, the Noel Brown case, to the LTG vs Ceroblast situation, the bans and punishments handed out are incredibly haphazard and on the fly, and until there's some sort of agreed upon regulation regarding these situations, (i.e if you do X you're banned for X amount of years) stuff like this will keep happening
