Honoka's PPK is a GB (smol).

Raidou's PPK isn't a GB (big dude).

Same move for both. Move clarity in visuals and impact for character portraying seems reversed.

Yeah Honoka's werid like that where she just randomly gets better versions of existing moves (Leon 46p, Brad Wong Dokuritsu Stance) but she also randomly gets worse versions as well (Kokoro 66p+k, Helena Bokuho stance)

I guess cause she's only half ninja she only gets half the privilege lol

While privileges is here and there for TN. From a visual perspective, it does look weird via Honoka. I remember me and Code use to dig into stuff from what looks "right" and what doesn't, with Honoka being one of them on having an more impact than a giant evil ninja robo.

Kinda like GBs where some of the heavy hitters have a negative GB, so the weight behind those attacks just look off.

that's just a lack of visual consistency, something that i've been bitching about the longest time, plus and minus guardbreaks are just visually confusing

but I guess they're designed to convey power moreso than a plus or minus state, but even in that regard it's still inconsistent (like seriously why isn't Raidou's ppk/pppk a GB???)

I do admit that DOA should keep negative GB's to a bare minimum, it leads to confusing "visual checks" for players that haven't memorised the ins or outs of Frame Data.

even when you know the frame data it's still confusing, hell Jann Lee and Marie Rose both have GB's that are so minus you can throw punish them for free, but I never do because when i get GB'ed my first inclination is not "sweet free punish" it's always "oh shit, time to hold this pressure" and by the the time my brain realizes that's not the case the moment's passed :/

Recovery is another thing, mix that with GBs or negative ones and it just looks weird all together for visual clarification.

One of my few only concerns with DOA is having very short recovery for very unsafe moves (becomes a hassle to deal with in netplay). This was like an issue with characters such as Rig, Nico, Alpha, Pai etc. and at times even long recovery for safe moves.
