That's why the industry has become a fraudulent. legal mafia. You cons00mers cons00m anyways, no matter how much dlc, no matter how much base game prices inflate, no matter the work ethics, no matter the steady decline of quality. We are at the point where people defend premium currencies and gacha. Ignorance is bliss. "Bro, that's bad and all but I want to cons00m the big brand"
while I'm also no fan of performative online outrage, I do understand if people wanna side with Taylor on this one, Bayo's voice is just too iconic and from a game series practically sells it'self on it's protagonists' personality, any sort of falling out with her VA leading to recast is gonna be met with some apprehension (think MGS and David Hayter for example)
also the whole flat $4000 offer becomes even weirder when you realize that video game VA's don't usually get paid in bulk, they work by the hour ($450) or per recording session ($900 for 4 hours), so why they didn't just work with her and pay what she would of been owed is beyond me
^ PlatinumGames probably didn't want to work with Hellena Taylor and preferred someone like Jennifer Hale. That could possibly be why Taylor got lowballed. I understand Taylor's frustration with the situation, but I hate the whole going on Twitter to whine about it and getting people to boycott a game from a niche developer.
