But, most importantly, I simply don't have the drive he does. He lives and breathes DOA. He has for many years. I'm a writer. That's what I live and breathe. I have slow reflexes, I seldom train, and I play to look cool and make figurative art (as opposed to the competitive mindset: "I play to win.")

Good to have a further confirmation about it ;)

Well yes, effectively the example of Master wasn't the best that I could do considering that he is a top player of DoA from years... And definitely he put a lot of time and effort in DoA (it's clear from his videos how much he experiments in the game), something that I could never do for lack of time and will me too.

But most importantly the right thing is to use the time for the matters that we really like, so if your interest come toward another direction is just good to use it for that ;) It's a shame that this sacrifices your liking in playing Hayabusa when you come to DoA, but evidently there is something different that for you has a major priority! =)

Yeah. I mean, I haven't dropped him or anything. I made a costume for him in this contest, for what that matters. I'm just not as dedicated to the character as I used to be. Other characters have become more enticing, whereas Hayabusa has several issues (not just dealing with competitive viability).

Hey, I'm so glad to see that you created an outfit even this time, I can't wait to see it when TN hopefully will post the wall of entries ;)

Well, all the characters are different between them so it's plausible to find issues with some of them, especially if they are not fitting to our playstyle. For making an example I get a much of fun with Ein and his simple way to play, but again I realize how much he is limited in his options compared to a character as Ayane.

He's not my only entry. I'll start posting 'em pretty soon, here.

But yeah, Hayabusa's playstyle is based around really, really derpy 50/50s. And if you get it right you feel like a chump for making a derp read, and if you get it wrong, you feel like the opponent is a chump for making a derp read. Nothing extraordinarily intelligent is going on.

The best you get is awkward spacing tools (that other characters do much more efficiently) or unreactable stupidity (random i6 tick throws for days). His sustained pressure capacity is more or less on the same level regarding his oki, and this isn't even covering the inherent flaws in his neutral game and abysmal stance. Overall, it's a disheartening experience.

I never tried to play Ryu (even if recently I got in consideration the idea) but - in my ignorance on the character - I always thought that the most funny and efficient way to use it would be through the metagame, causing confusion in the opponent and allowing him to not realize what exactly you wish do.

Hayabusa seems to be a character thought at the basis for it (overall seeing how many starting imput can bring to different endings), but not sure how much you can rely on it considering the rest of his tools. It's also possible that these characteristics in Doa5 are just a legacy remained in the moveset of his playstyle from Doa4 .

Implying that Hayabusa isn't good and using the example of MASTER, is pretty much the same as me saying that Ayane "isn't good" and using HajinShinobi as an example saying that he could probably win tournaments by devoting to other characters. Interestingly, Hayabusa has won more tournaments than Ayane.

Your opinion is noted and dismissed.

That's exactly a rebuttal and further reinforces my point. If Hayabusa is "bad" in practice then Ayane is "bad" by the same token.

*not exactly.

I'm trying to find non-offensive ways to relay that I'm not interested in expending energy justifying my insights to members of this community any more. Most objections are due to poor interpretations of my text, and correcting those involves convoluted procedures that consume large amounts of time.

I've found that most halfway intelligent people come to my basic conclusions on their own any way, though they rarely understand why. It just takes them a lot longer, and they comprehend it in more passive ways.

I'm an analyst, not an exhibitionist.

I know your point though. You're trying to imply that Hayabusa is "bad" when he's not, and dismiss anyone that uses MASTER as an example. He has won majors with Hayabusa before. Ayane has had less tournament success than Busa, yet Ayane is considered the "better" character.

You just demonstrated that you do not, in fact, know my point. I made three points, two of which you butchered through contextual neglect and the third of which you fail to acknowledge whatsoever. And in doing so you have reassured me that trying to correct your misconceptions would be a waste of my time.

I am not frivolous, and I do not enjoy being pestered with superficial criticisms.

What is your point about Hayabusa though? That he's not worth the effort at a tournament level?

I already explained all the points relevant to Kronin's inquiries. As I stated before, I'm not interested in elaborating every word I write to those who don't care to read them.
