I get hit with that a lot. Usually one of 2 responses come out from me. Either I just shrug it off, or I tell them that they can pick the arguably best character in the game and I'd still rock them.
I mean its a really dumb argument because according to the Japanese tier list the worst Match Up is 4.0-5.0 and thats not bad at all.
However the Tier List here has numerous 3-7..... and thats kinda bad...... however I feel theres something off about the way Matchups are determined here.
I see. I use him alot since he's pretty easy and effective, but he's pretty bare as far as tools is concerned. Wasn't he top tier back in doa2 and Doa2U?
and yes ein was beast back in the day, but that was when doa was a very different game. the stun threshold was low, damage was high, no side steps, no force techs, no mid crushes (cept for bokudo ducking), it was simplier but it was hella fun.
Ein was really good in DOA4 from what I heard. However with his DOA5U/DOA5LR move set, he just isn't as strong as he use to be. One of the biggest changes he had is his 6P+K, which was part of his spacing game since it knocked the opponent pretty far. But now that its his critical burst, the properties have changed. He has to rely on a lot of high-low mixups, 2H+K and 3P to get in.
omg ein's old 6p+K used to be guuuuudddd, 14 frame start up, hella range, knocked fools fullscreen, it was beautiful. he still has 236p, but there's something about a double fisted lunge punch that 236p can't compare to.
