That's cool, but that varies greatly on what/why exactly that hands need to be held. There are some things in this world that you can definitely do on your own if you put the effort to it. DOA is a game where you can definitely learn on your own if you sit down and perform the actions given to you.
Tutorials being placed and information provided etc, but none of it truly matters if you yourself won't perform the action to learn in the first place. I didn't need to watch any videos on how I learned Akira with the exception of reading posts regarding tech that I would of found minutes later if I sat down and tried because we can do it too.
That's how I was for the few characters I chose to main, especially Kasumi, Phase and Naotora. That's partly due to the fact that I didn't discover FSD till 2014 XD. Even then I prefer to be solitary and learn stuff myself, it just resonates better and feels more rewarding
Couldn't tell if you were tooting your own horn or trying to inspire others at first. Thank God I took a minute to sit down and read the follow-up posts.
I had to learn stuff the hard way because no one would help me in the past on how I wanted to progress things because they didn't know how to truly explain it to provide such help, no one was around when I needed the help so I said screw it, I'll do the shit on my own with a boulder on my back if I had to.
i should get my friend to read this post, she just started playing DOA5 recently and is always asking me to teach her how to play, and fighting games aren't really something you can teach.
I mean you can teach mechanics and how they work, you can give starts here and there, but alot of it (especially if you're new) you're gonna have to learn through staying dedicated and gaining experience, until it all starts clicking
LoL.... one of the hardest things for me was teaching my cousin not to button mash..... then thst got me thinking.... How did I learn not to Button Mash ? Its not like nobody wasn't trying to help me figure that out.
And yet I still couldn't do it... I kept mashing. I'm guessing at some point I decided to take this shit seriously and learn some god damn Restraint..... however, exactly when this epiphany occured to me is a Mystery. I don't remember. Its like trying to remember when you became an responsible adult. Yeah you can remember when you turned 18/21 but that didn't magically make you an adult.
