@Lulu also if she was super difficult to the point where she would be unreliable that would just be a bad character, noone likes to play an inconsistent character. You not being able to do her juggles is your problem
@Bacaww
LoL.... Yes shes the weakest character in the game based on the Japanese Tier List (which I think is outdated now)
Also as I stated earlier... the tools she does have to open people are limited.... so even if she does have safe setups they are also predictable... 66K & 66PP are good examples.
@Bacaww
She can't continue to do the same thing over and over... eventually the opponent will adapt and she'l have to whip out something very Unsafe just for the sake of variety.
I get the sense you simply aren't reading my posts because I distinctly said I don't struggle performing Phase 4's Teleports.... I can do them just fine.... Offline.
LoL... Well yeah by Street Fighter's Standard they are downright Childsplay but if you were to average out the Execution Rating of the rest of the Cast then Phase 4, Hayate & Raidou are in the "Difficult Percentile" range.
It makes a game like Killer Instinct Interesting because their Roster are all almost equal in terms of Difficulty... if you can execute well with one of them then they're all viable to you.
Lulu I really get the strong feeling that you don't know what you're talking about.
Phase 4 isn't the "weakest" character in the game. Every character has certain pros and cons, the fact you based your opinion on what you say is an "outdated" tier list already proves that you don't know what you're talking about. Phase her teleports are already easy... it's like 1 input
Tier List arguments aside (Nobody can agree on those Anyway).
Also despite how easy her Teleports are for me to do now when I first started they were difficult. And in the end nothing special came out of that grind.
If I don't know what I'm talking about then by all means... Educate me. I have no issue being wrong but I'm not going to change my tune because everybody keeps spewing out the same line and never explaining it in detail.
Here are the popular ones.
"It adds more Depth."
"It makes it more Special"
"It stops people from abusing them/it."
Hayate as a "difficult" character? Umm... unlike Phase-4's teleports, Raijin is not necessary to Hayate's gameplay in any way and is almost entirely a novelty. Apart from Momiji, Hayate's arguably one of the easiest ninja to play.
@Force_of_Nature
I agree... its still prettt hard though... although not as hard as Hayabusa's WR4K.
Anyway this was back during my thumb stick days before I learned how to play on D-Pad. The input detection on Hayate's 66P+K & 44K seemed strangely Tighter than everyone elses for some reason.
@Lulu The reason why there are higher execution elements in fighting games including DOA is to make the moves or character special by having a barrier that keeps average joes and scrubs from performing it easily. It forces players to commit to the character in order to learn them properly as opposed to pick-up & play. Can you imagine if Akira was easy? Half his hype is from his execution.
Also there the issue that pro players are enjoying these games at the expense and suffering of new players.... or people who just bought the game out of curiosity.
@Lulu You said and I recall: "the difficulty associated with doing them is pointless" I assumed you had problems with it because of this sentence. And no shit I thought it was obvious free damage meant juggles/combos. If her teleports were easy the damage would favor her more than it already does. Anyway time to move on to the next status update
Also Phase 4 is not alone in that High Damage Category and the other characters that can do big damage don't require spending 500 hours banging your head against the wall in training mode. So your argument was kinda flawed before you even typed it out.
Anyway... leave if you want.... if you've been long enough then you know its just going to happen again.... that's kinda my thing.
@Force_of_Nature - Not exactly true and here's why. Particularly since you brought up Akira and the hype around it. We interviewed JPN players at NEC and reasoning for chants etc:
1) The reason why people went nuts is because Akira has never won a tournament before for DOA in the US (Me, Sly Bass, Jaegar, Matt P etc). JCA proved that and put it on display that he "can" win. JCA coming to the US was vital to create a spark that hasn't been seen in a long time and using that character to create the spark was a strong example.
