So I hear one of the reasons from Toei (the owners of the Dragonball franchise license currently) is that they want huge royalties from tournament hostings regarding DBFZ. They practically made DBFZ a one time thing basically, ArcSystem Works EVEN had plans to make more Dragonball games.

Lots of companies for fighting games are dealing with licensing issues (DBFZ) and fighting games are just getting dominated and controlled by other competitive genres, but not having those great licenses in general will just make regular fighting games not go anywhere (like usual), sucks but it's the way the world goes.

Capcom's getting a lot of heat and flack for the new SFV character Kage. Can't blame the people because Kage looks exactly like Evil Ryu from USFIV but converted that Evil Ryu to SFV. It just doesn't look like they put much effort into him.
