RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

Which becomes a problem when your personal definition contradicts the accepted definition. Heck, Zangief is the prototypical archetype of the grappler (and he only started out with 1 command grab in WW). Characters like Abel, Laura, the KoF grapplers all count simply because the command grabs...

RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

Last I checked, character like Abel, Ralph, Clark, etc. are all considered grapplers, just not the same type as the usual slow, heavy, old-school "Capcom style" grapplers. The basic requirement is just having command grabs as part of their gameplan. The old, get in and rely solely on command...

RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

That's six for this year. There's going to be a second season of characters next year, and possibly another season after that. There's no "expansion" per se because they're adopting the seasonal model similar to KI. With the plan ostensibly being to support the game with seasonal content for at...

RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

Except when I say that nobody makes most of their money from actual game sales, I'm talking about an actual industry wide trend for AAA games, and not just something that changes per company. You can read as much here in the Polygon article...

RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

Laura is a grappler in the same way that Abel is a grappler, or the KoF grapplers are grapplers. The thing is, aside from one comment about "looking at their competitors", Capcom's promotion of the game, the stuff about the new netcode, the Capcom Fighters Network, the Pro Tour, etc. has all...

RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

First up, it's Bengus and that's pretty much how Bengus draws when he has to do alot of art and not just promotional posters and stuff. Compare with his promotional Laura art and it's basically the same style, with just a little more detail. Secondly, it's story mode, the mode that the core...

Snake Eyez was using these at the MadCatz tournament. Both are all patterned after the immortal Sega Saturn 6 button pad.

RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

As I've pointed out before, Street Fighter's art style is something that it's had since the 90s. It's especially prominent here since it seems that the art is based on Bengus' work.

RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

Except that's exactly what I was saying. In other words, it would be realistic to expect to see a repacked "GOTY" or "starter" edition next year that's just same game bundles with the Season 1 pass at a slightly lower price. At the same time however, don't expect this package to be treated the...

RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

Except we've gotten multiple indications that the camera angle changes (to not just the butt slap, but some other things, such as Cammy's pre-fight intro) were done with the ESRB rating in mind. Even Capcom's Matt Dahlgren has admitted as much...

RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

Except the business model here is different. SFV is going for a more MOBA like service model where Capcom intends to make money more from the post launch content. This is different from how say, NRS handles its games where there's set end to the post launch content (hence the "complete...

RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

Except a re-release doesn't make sense with their current business model. At most, we'll probably see a GOTY edition with a download code for the season 1 pass, but that's it.

The problem is, since you admittedly aren't the best source for these kinds of explanations, your explanations can be misleading and, at worse totally erroneous.

RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

Yet you also mentioned this. This is the big problem with you. You're speaking as if you're some sort of be-all expert on 3rd Strike, when you clearly aren't. There are other, more useful ways of landing throws in 3rd Strike. Kara throw, dash up throw in neutral, tick throws, and of course...

RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

Well, he was talking about getting thrown out of a DP. Depending on the game/character some DPs don't have throw invulnerability. I mentioned startup and recovery frames since the only time that strikes have universally beat out throws was when we still has 1 button, 0 frame throws.

RISE UP! Street Fighter V on PS4 and PC

Ever since 3rd Strike where we lost 0 frame throws, throws now have startup, active and recovery frames. The whole strikes beating throws thing then only work during trade situations where the active frames of the throw clash with those of the strike. You can beat a throw if you hit its startup...
