You're mixing up terminology.
American 2D FGC uses different terminology from the standard (i.e. Japan).
What we call "mids" in 3D FGs are actually analogous to overheads in US 2D FG terms. In fact, they're called exactly that (mids) in Japan.
This is why I keep saying y'all should make a match up chart first. But I guess people are too afraid if finding out that their characters are actually strong after asking for all these buffs/changes.
I can't believe people still expect their consoles to be able to process video at 720p despite the fact that current gen consoles do not have the necessary horsepower to do so. The average setup for processing video has a mid-high range processor and at least 4 to 8 Gigabytes of RAM - something...
I'm guessing you've never heard of resets where you intentionally drop a combo to put your opponent in an unfavorable mixup to start another combo and 'reset' any scaling combo count limiter. Happens in alot of games.
Wouldn't that be a worse idea? If he's getting frustrated by "spammy" plauers, would playing against competitive folk who've most likely mastered more optimal stuff be even more frustrating?
And when was spam ever a bad thing?
Also, you do realize that strong countets is one of the things that made DOA4 be considered one of the worse fighting games ever made right? It made no sense how someone who got a hit in were punished with more damage of a counter than what they dealt.
For anyone interested in making a combo video, here's an old guide on stuff that people shouldn't do in combo videos.

GT-86 over the BRZ.
While the Toybaru twins are basically the same car, they're tuned a bit differently. The 86 is slightly more exciteable and driftable than the BRZ.
...is 2D. Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax is a collab between Sega and light novel publisher Dengeki Bunko. The game will characters from both Dengeki Bunko's novels/anime and select Sega Franchises (e.g. Valkyria Chronicles)...
Thanks to you guys, I have enough content to do a round up article for DOA5U on Shoryuken. Keep up the good work.

EDIT: Comments on the article would be greatly appreciated.
You can't just make a list by discussing strengths and weaknesses in a vaccuum. You have to factor in matchups, especially in a situation like what we have right now where it seems we have clear counterpicks.
