I think it does. You get it by getting all costumes in DOA2U (it was also given out in some OXM demo discs)

Yeah, I always felt like it was an oversight from the developpers. Except for Bass's taunt in DOA5, I don't think so.

I'm guessing you already got your answer, but you can set it to 1 round, you just won't unlock any costumes while doing so. I actually have a question too, why is Spartan-458 speaking Japanese during her "Greatest" win quote? I never got that.
