About this Ryo Hazuki junk, if he was going to be in the game, they would just recycle voice clips from Shenmue 1 and 2. It's what they did with the Virtua Fighter cast, so why would Ryo be any different.
Seriously thinking its Shenmue 3 though.

Because the VF voices are from this gen and don't need to be rerecorded.They're fucking terrible on purpose.

This is what I'd like to know too. Every since he said that sentence people just took it and ran with that shit. Just imagine if he said Sonic? People would probably break their own fuckin neck lmao

It's because yesterday the english voice actor for Ryo posted a picture of him on facebook in a recording booth and the only voice role he's ever done was Ryo and later he posted an older picture of him standing next to a Sega poster so people are jumping all over thinking shenmue 3 or rerecording for Shenmue I&II HD etc...Who knows what he's up to though.

Heh. If that's all we got to go on for Ryo Hazuki's possibility of being in the game, he'll at best be a reskin option for Akira's slot with alternate voice sampling, hence the need for the voice recording.

Why waste an extra slot for a character who essentially has the same style as Akira's when you can simply do this method? After all, Shiden in DOA Dimensions was just a reskin of DOA4 Hayate, if you really, really think about it...

^ That's what I was hoping they'd do with Miyako, just make her a hidden costume for Kokoro. Everything's already in the game... but it makes too much sense to do it.

Can someone please explain the hype behind ryo? I didn't play shenmue but he just seems like some normal guy to me.

Shenmue was the GTA3 before GTA3, which is to say it has greatly inspired and influenced the direction of the GTA series and other such similar nonlinear games in the genre.

Ryo Hazuki may look ordinary, but to the gamers who know better, he is the face of the revolution that franchise started, just as Akira Yuki is to VF, as ordinary as he looks.

Shenmue had a rather intricate fighting system whenever the story called for it. Ryo was a badass with the skills to take on multiple enemies at a time.

Akira uses bajiquan. Hazuki style uses jujitsu and karate along with other forms of martial arts mixed in(including some bajiquan), but it is primarily jujitsu. They are not "essentially the same."
