Do we even know what they have done with him yet? All I've seen is his reveal and that's it.

I'm an Ein player and I can tell you right off the bat his 3 nerfs (that we know of).

- 3k no longer puts the opponent in a SDS (Possibly crouch only but doubtful.).
- 8p now causes the new "bound" knockdown on CH instead of a SDS.
- 6P+K (His best ranged stun game poke and whiff punisher) has been nerfed to CB status, it's a few frames slower and it looks like the range was reduced too.

So yeah, Buff Ein. I'm honestly kinda worried about how he'll turn out. Only good thing I've seen is he got his OH back.

Oh right I assumed they were fairly safe I'll admit I was wrong there then.

although Busa and Hayate are more unsafe since they're slower, Ayane and Kasumi still have the options of interrupting and whiff punishing (Ayane especially) Busa doesn't really have that option since everyone but the grapplers can out punch him even at disadvantage.


If anything the Ninjas are technically some of the worst characters in the game especially Hayabusa & Hayate and yet they're getting nerfed, people need to stop thinking that the Ninjas are automatically god tier because unless they're not haha
Don't bother, Blaze is biased against ninjas. Hayate has some decent guard breaks now but they're risky. Outside of that he's crazy unsafe and Busa looks like he's getting less safe too. Hopefully they do get some buffs to offset the nefs. non gimmicky buffs.

Week's half way over... just keep it together... well, I'm gonna get jumped on for doing this but I'm bored and have some time to kill before I crash so. I would like Akira.... buffed. Don't bother screaming "VF CHARS DON'T NEED BUFFS HE'S TOP TIER" The only top tier VF character is Sarah, (Soon to be Jacky probably too.) come off it.

- :4::3::P: (or) :3::H+K::P: , :8:/:2::P+K: is +15 on block in VF5FS. That's a guaranteed attack after he breaks your guard with that string mixup. In DOA5 however it's a +6 guard break that guarantees nothing and you're better off just going for a jab/mixup into CB instead of using this followup. It should be buffed up to FS standards and guarantee something.
- :4::6::P+K: is -10 here. It felt like it should be a frame trap. So I looked at the VF5FS Frame data and wouldn't you know it? It's +1 on block there. Why is it unsafe here? Change it.
- :2::1::4::P: is +3 in FS and has special properties in DOA5. It's +1 up close and the further away you are when it blocks the higher the advantage from +1 to +5, however it's very difficult to get the extra advantage and 90% of the time you'll just get the +1. You should either get +3 or +5 at any distance.
-:2::P: is +1 on NH here. it's +5 in FS and +2 on block. That's a little overboard here but I do think it should be buffed up to +2 on NH. It can stay +0 on block.
- :2::K: is -7 on NH here and -6 in FS. Getting punished for landing a hit as we all know is ludicrous. Take liberties here and give us +1 or at least neutral.

Before people start crying broken, none of these things help Akira's biggest weakness which is sidestepping.

Hello all, new player here. I'm just getting into DOA5 and looking forward to DOA5U. Right now I'm taking my time to go through the great resources provided by Emperor-Cow and back topics on these forums. Got some quick question about DOA5U though:

As a player in the US who cannot buy the CE....are these CE costumes going to stay exclusive to the CE or will they eventually come out as paid DLC to everyone?

Is it still the case that there are no revealed USA pre-order bonus specials?

Yes Sentinel is BS too.

I'm not saying DOA5 is fine, I'm actually looking forward to what they are doing with the game seeing as there are a lot of new mechanics and changes to the system that will hopefully solidify the game overall.

My point is solely that being at EVO doesn't mean that a game is competitive and games like like MvC2 which had everyone playing the same three characters and had plenty of infinite's that technically broke the game were still had high tournament turnouts.
The number of viable characters has nothing to do with whether or not a game is competitively viable. Time has shown that all that you need is at least 4 top tier characters as long as the matchups between them are interesting and engaging enough.

Case in point, many folks will complain about 3rd Strike being unbalanced, yet the game is pretty deep and involved among the top 6-8 characters. Enough that it's still a Japanese tournament mainstay to this day. Then there's Super Turbo, a game with some pretty lopsided matchups (Ryu vs Honda is 9:1), but is still considered by a good number to be one of the best fighting games. It's pretty telling when you have community efforts like the Tournament of Legends that brings the game back into majors.

Yeah unfortunately there is a certain elitism with fighting games players where if someone calls something broken they are automatically a scrub. Goods tools are not broken, infinite's are, and there is nothing wrong with calling it.

The Racer Outfits/Swimsuits outfits should be dlc to everyone about two weeks after release or so. As for the idols costumes, I'm sure the US will get them as pre order costumes. If the UK did them so will the US but it'll probably take longer to announce. The DOA5U page isn't even up on the Gamestop site so I think maybe we should hear something by the time they do

Haha wouldn't get my hopes up. So far in 5U they've nerfed his 16T and 2P

Considering that was what happened with the "exclusive" swimwear after around two months, It would be safe to assume that they'd come out as paid dlc later on.

Does anyone else find the CE a little.. Disappointing? ._. I really don't mind we're not getting it.

I mean.. 3d mousepads in a video game CE.

Edit- an artbook or something would have been cool. Drafts or concepts of the new stages and stuff.

Mila, I forgot about her too. She needs an air takedown and from wall. And more guarantee combos.
Hitomi just needs what Ren just said.
Ninjas don't need no more options. They are already too safe.


With Mila...her air counter for kicks should lead into the takedown like the other counters. Yaknow, the one where she leaps up at the enemy then punches them down, landing in a takedown mount, but then she just gets up? She shouldn't get up, she should be able to start beating on the opponent like her regular takedown from there.
