Dead Or Alive 7 - A Future Look

you all do not know how it feels to have the same game studio who produced the bayonetta series to be on board with koei tecmo and team ninja, following the announcement of the new NG series...what is to be expected from this dream team? will we get a first look at DOA7 in E3??? only one can hope.

I would LOVE if they do a DOA7 and add Bayonetta to the game that will be EPIC!

I doubt Platinum's collaboration with them will extend to more games than just NG4, especially not DOA7 since Platinum doesn't have any experience working on developing any FGs.

Bayonetta as a guest would be awesome but I don't know how she'd fight in DOA without her iconic guns (practically part of her name even, lol).

welcome to the forum btw :)

Not platinum games, but Microsoft Studios could be much different in terms of funding.

The fact Platinum Games & Microsoft are part of Ninja Gaiden 4 Development would make Me wish that Honey Parade Games (developers behind Senran Kagura New Link) to be developer and DMM Games (which DOAXVV was distributed since 2017 and is their number 1 game) to be Publisher for a new DOA Fighting Game alongside Team Ninja & Koei Tecmo, and the new DOA fighting game should be given the same treatment like DOAX games from only being available in Japan & Asia, with Low Budget & Resources (like DOAX3), being only available in PC (like DOAXVV), and fanservice/sex appeal to be inline with DOA5LR & DOAXVV from outfits to game features (like a touch mechanic which cause the girls to react).

Not platinum games, but Microsoft Studios could be much different in terms of funding.
Microsoft Studios would be better off not giving funding to a new DOA game after censoring Gal*Gun since Xbox 360, for actions of changing the Dark Queen design in Battletoads (2020), and Microsoft cautions developers to avoid curvy female characters:

Microsoft should commit social distancing from the DOA franchise, and probably be better off having original IP for Xbox Game Pass that is suited for their own standards.

I can't say that I agree with the comparison made here. Characteristics can always be mixed mashed with different brands of marketing and different looks at art styles and a bizarre change can be expected from time to time, I'd much rather watch Episode 3 than Clone Wars for visual purposes, but Clone Wars was a great animated series, and they were able to create a faster progression of story. Most bizarre changes are also temporary; especially if fans hate any revisions.

Sony was the original advocate of censorship, and they weren't asking a question for you to consider as a developer, Asking the question allows room for exceptions. Sony enforced these policies (and honestly as much as I hate censorship, I've seen stuff out there that makes DOA look innocent). Around April 2019. Correct? When did DOA6 come out? March 1st, 2019? When did Rachel arrive? Right after the policy was enacted and they made an example of Team NINJA and Rachel's fiend outfit with that quick fix black paint.

Now that we know Phil Spencer saved NINJA Gaiden years ago and that XBOX Studios is publishing NG4 we can combine that with the fact that Microsoft made quite a big deal about making DOA1-DOA4 backwards across the entire XBOX ecosystem several years ago when NG was in the pipeline already. I think when Phil looks back at what made XBOX good everyone knows that DOA was in the equation alongside NG. For me, and I'm guessing others, the Team NINJA experience on XBOX and 360 was a reason enough to buy the systems to begin with.

It also appears the relationship has always been pretty strong, even when IPs started landing on PS. Microsoft has always been pretty open to Koei Tecmo, but especially Team NINJA. Wo Long got a two-year Game Pass Deal while most games get one year if they are lucky and popular enough.

Not to mention NGIIB is announced for Game Pass alongside the announcement of NG4. Rachel is back but also her fiend outfit. The way it's supposed be seen.

this gives many players here alot of hope for DOA7, I really think that we will get something at E3 this year for another DOA instalment, so yeah i am really praying and hoping we will get some DOA7 news soon, not to mention its their anniversary this year...who knows, if anything DOA7 is probably in very early development to the hoax back in 2019....

What gave me most hope of a new DOA being announced or coming either this year or next is two things: the new years comment from Team Ninja saying that they want to do something special to commemorate Team Ninja's 30th anniversary this year (and remember, DOA was Team Ninja's very first game), and the fact that DOA1's 30th anniversary is next year.

And yeah, as for censorship, it's a crapshoot (a roll of the dice) no matter what major platform they decide to release their games on or which of the big three they work with, as Sony, MS, and Nintendo have all been on and off when it comes to censorship, guideline restrictions, and toning down. You just never know anymore these days.

that statement alone from Team Ninja instantly gave me hope for DOA7 and another is that they`re releasing a new NG game which gave me even more hope

Heres a thing, Battletoads was a brand that was remembered from people who grew up in the 90s with its last game being Battletoads Arcade in 1994. A proper revival would be something that tried to recapture everything from previous Battletoads, better yet a direct copy from the classic games where Dark Queen would've wore the same outfit since the 90s along with appealing artstyle. But Battletoads (2020) really went off the rails with its artstyle along with its writing, and were definitely run by people who don't understand Battletoads along with despites the original brand I'd recommend some clip samples which are about 0:59 for Dark Queen Design scene and other cringeworthy scenes that are worth 0:05 to 0:23:

This is something Xbox Game Studios allowed this version of Battletoads to happen, instead of cancelling the version, or have focus test with the fanbase involved not accepting artstyle & writing which would maybe give Xbox Game Studios a chance to change the game completely just get fanbase's approval.

Sony was the original advocate of censorship, and they weren't asking a question for you to consider as a developer, Asking the question allows room for exceptions. Everyone should know Sony pushes for censorship, however Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet came out in March 20, 2019 on PS4 (which took out certain swimsuits & features) while Nintendo Switch (had everything exclusive to this system) so Dead or Alive 6 from March 1st, 2019 had no excuse for Rachel's Fiend Outfit covered up for all systems & removing Phase 4 Arnice Transformation Outfit. Rachel came out in December 16, 2019, all the developers should've done is make Rachel's Fiend Outfit exclusive to just Steam & Xbox One. When Sony were enforcing their new policies, Team Ninja & Koei Tecmo could've easily cancel the PS4 release. But DOA6 Team too busy toning themselves down from DOA5 anyway, so it didn't make much of a difference.

I will say Xbox Game Studios publishing NG4 is as trustworthy as Sony publishing Stellar Blade, along with Battletoads (2020) which were published by Xbox Game Studios & Rare. Not even Xbox can properly handle certain scenes with their trailer that features attractive female characters:

Just because Microsoft made DOA1U-DOA4 backwards compatible doesn't 100% mean they are the right publisher for DOA franchise especially when DOA5 had hyper revealing outfits, various breast physics from Off to OMG, Gravure Cutscene for each female character as DLC, and clothing destruction when they've collab with Senran Kagura which might not meet with Microsoft's standards when they had something that doesn't encourage developers to make curvy female characters that was reported from Niche Gamer. Koei Tecmo US & EU divisions saved DOAX games by not wanting to publish DOAX3, DOAXVV, & Venus Vacation Prisim worldwide leaving these games to be region-lock so anyone with US/EU servers, people who shop at Gamestop or Wal-Mart can't even buy the games leaving people who order on Play-Asia & knows how to use VPNs can get the games.

Dare I say the best experience I still would want from DOA is if someone like Phil Spencer for example had no interest in saving the DOA brand, and DOA fighting game series followed its spin-off just to be safe.

Not to mention NGIIB is announced for Game Pass alongside the announcement of NG4. Rachel is back but also her fiend outfit. The way it's supposed be seen.
I will definitely say Rachel's Fiend Outfit from NGIIB is a huge improvement over DOA6 besides this weird detail on the area on her legs & crouch that wasn't seen in NGIISP, DOA5U, & even DOA6 (not counting Black Paint covering skin):

You can say at best NGIIB is worth a purchase for other platforms, and ideal part is to be a copy paste from the bottom.

I personally enjoyed that Battle Toads! So, I can't speak on negatives when I've enjoyed the entire franchise.

Rachel's outfit censorship was completely Sony's fault and unfortunately everyone had to suffer the consequences. Taking it out of the PS version wouldn't have been fair to PS players even if it was Sony's fault. They should have just removed the outfit completely.

XBOX may not be "the best fit" but they are looking like one of the best fits available. Sony doesn't care about DOA. They never have. The only fighting game they cared about then was Tekken. They bought EVO and ever since that unfortunate purchase they continue controlling the FGC through that tournament and so that people keep buying fighting games for that mid and overpriced PS5.

Also, that YouTube video is complete misinformation. Taken from the comments section:

"This is misinformation. There are 2 trailers the old one and new one. The old was made available to IGN and Xbox YouTube. The new one is seen on Xbox and Microsoft Stores. If the goal was censorship both the stores would have used the old trailer. Videos on YouTube by corporates are uploaded well before time, and they simply uploaded the first trailer which they only had."

My bet would be it'd be announced this year and release next year, but this year's "DOA" is primarily called Venus Vacation Prism and only has one DOA character so I'd hardly call it a DOA game (spinoff of a spinoff, more like) and I doubt it'd even have any of the same developers working on the fighting game (maybe just in the visuals department).

I Hope so , the graphics department could be done by those NGB2 intern. new doa game in Unreal engine 5 could lowered the production cost hence no expensive dlc.
