DOA5U: The score is in...

And what if Tengu is unlocked after all titles are unlocked in this one? Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants?

Famitsu would give the game a perfect score then I'm sure.

If Tengu was in this game then it really would be Ultimate. Don't give up hope just yet though. During one of the E3 interviews they basically said that if enough people voiced wanting him they'll see what they can do about including him (didn't specify when or if it was for 5U).

I'm fairly convinced he will be DLC. I'm 100% he's not on disc, because Team Ninja likes to ruin lives.

Numerical reviews are pointless for any game.
How can you "rate" a competitive electronic sport?
How can you mathematically judge a piece of interactive art?
Same way they judge intelligence and aptitude with a numerical score.
Coordinated Management of Meaning.

Unfortunately they aren't really an optimal form of reviewing games, if such a thing exists.

You can't. Scored reviews are bullshit.

I agree that mathematical judgments don't make sense. But as with any other sport, game, or artform, people can (and will) opine. Critics need some way to feed their families.

I wonder if Game Informer will actually give it a review or just a one line quote at the very end of the magazine with a 6.5/10 again which I'm guessing was based on a total of 10 minutes of playtime.

There was a full review and a 20 - 30 minute test chamber video on their website. That said GI's DOA5 review wasn't very good.

I'd take a picture of what they put in their magazine for you but I don't really keep my old issues of GI unless there's something special in them.

I get the magazine, I saw the one-line in the back of the magazine. I'm just pointing out that like most of the one line reviews in the back of the magazine they come from full reviews on their website.

The video I pointed out also shows the problem with a large number of DOA reviews anyway. I'm pretty sure it was about 5 minutes of fighting, a cutscene, then 15 minutes of complaining about boobs.
