Oh well that's great then! The battle system in this game looks like it could be the best in any ff game.
Don't let purists hear you say that lol

Lol I was thinking of you specifically when I said that. I actually like the battle system of almost all the games I've played so far XIII-2 being my favourite XV's just looks even more fun. What's your favourite?

You are sounding kinda defensive there. XD I was just asking. :(

That's because the way you asked if I played made it sound like "did you even play Duscae? That sounds wrong" besides, you should know, I've flat out talked about how I couldn't share screenshots on xbox remember?

That's a tough question but I know the answer wouldn't be XV especially having played Duscae myself. X-2 and XIII's battle systems stand out to me while a lot of other ones get samey. I enjoyed Bravely Default's system as well and I know it's not officially a final fantasy title but it might as well be.

I hated XIII's system so much... The worst part is it's actually really deep and strategic. But Auto battle and the dumb lose conditions really fucked over the gameplay and system Imo.

This is why I liked it. It's almost like a faster version of FFX-2 switching between jobs in an instant.

You don't have to use auto battle so I'm not sure how it fucked over the gameplay. I believe there's a setting that puts the cursor on abilities by default so you never even have to touch it. It's been a long time since I played so I don't remember any lose conditions other than everyone hitting 0 HP

Its not everyone hitting 0HP it's the player hitting 0HP... Your party could still be in green and it's still game over.

As for Auto battle, I know you can, I mean how it just completely over shadows everything else. Seriously I hate whenever people say XIII is brain dead and /or not strategic... It has more strategy than some of the old ATB games that's for sure.

I haven't played Duscae so what I'm saying has all been on what I expect it to play like. ( I've played Kingdom Hearts 2 ) XIII definitely has a great combat system and the best I've played so far. X's was fun too once I got into it but I prefer fast speed.

In my opinion FFXV's battle system looks way more similar to the one in Type-0. After playing Duscae i started Type-0 and i was like "Oh wait, this is just a simpler version of the FFXV demo's combat system!", maybe this is the reason i ended up liking it. The only big differences i can find are the inputs to dodge/block/heal and that in Type-0 you can only have 2 offensive magics/abilties at time (but it lets you switch characters in combat), while in Duscae you can use all the ones you have.

My favourite is XIII/XIII-2. Personally I rarely used the auto-battle option even when the ATB bar was already filled. As a SYN/SAB, it's better the prioritize certain buffs/debuffs than others, the dumb COM auto-battle likes to put a Ruin and then all attacks when you don't have informations about the enemy, and the RAV auto-battle rarely puts -GA spells, or puts physical attack-magical attack-physical-magical...... wasting a lot of time.
LR was really interesting, the only things i didn't like were the one party member and only 4 actions to choose at time. X-2 was cool too. VII/VIII/IX were fine, X a bit less, I kind don't like turns (too slow). My least favourite is XII, ew.

I really struggled in XII because of its combat. It probability didn't help that I couldn't get the gambit system to work for me either. That was about 5 years ago though before I was really into the series so when the HD remaster comes out ( maybe this year ) I'd like to get it. Not to mention the international version replaces the licence board with a job system.

I don't think the XII remaster is coming any time soon, it hasn't even been officially announced yet. ):

That's weird, I got the opposite impression that duscae was like a simpler type-0.

Yeah the remaster still seems to be on the down low for square right now. I just hope they officially announce it this year. I'm sure its coming though from what people have said.

It might not come this year because World of FF is tbis year and that's already pretty niche and being over shadowed by XV, XII HD has little chance next year either thanks to VII Remake which will likely launch for its 20th anniversary.

Wow 20 years old! I wonder how they are going to do the whole episodic thing. If they have to do it like that then I think they should do it like the XIII trilogy. They should expand apon the story greatly and have 3 games each about 50 long span the ff7 story.

Thank god I finally got to chapter 3 of ffx-2 this game is satanic! The walkthrough I'm looking at for tips is no where near helpful enough.
Oh.... you made me remember that there's a monkey hunt quest in Kilika wood during chapter 1 [?] Those monkeys were so well hidden that it took me like 30 minutes to find them all even with the help of an image featuring the locations of the monkeys in the map.........
I wonder how someone playing this game for the first time can complete all without looking for information/tips D:
