Personally for me it lived up to and raises above my expectations and I really loved it! :) I'm looking forward to it being supported with more dlc as it goes on. Althoughj obviously there were things that i didn't like or I thought could have went in a better direction for possibly future games set in the world of Eos. Beyonce @Aerospark I'm guessing you have completed the game then?

Also I was gonna try out possible the "Tales of" series the "Hyperdimensional Neptunia" series and the "Star Ocean" series, There's a new Neptunia game in development that seems very fast paced so I think I'll wait for that and the Tales of Besteria ( or zesteria I forgot which one ) comes out next month which looks cool so I might get that. But from what people are saying about SO5 I'm guessing I shouldn't get that one and instead get SO4 or something.
Stop reminding me of the fall of Beyonce... it was my most iconic contribution to this site.

It was an enjoyable game for what it has to offer, I'll give it that, but for a Final Fantasy game, it's a complete letdown. The story is bad, and while the characters have amazing chemistry together, they're stale and no one exactly develops in the game. Lunafreya, the game's main heroine, isn't even in the game for more than 20 minutes and is treated like complete shit for no reason. Gentiana, Iris and Cidney (all side characters), are more prominent than she is. Yikes.
Nothing in this game had any type of impact and really stands out that puts itself above other entries in the series. The summons, however, are all amazing. Love using them (especially Shiva and Leviathan). Just wish I could summon the elusive Titan x__x.

I've completed the game and I'm a few hours away from the platinum. Gotta get these stupid skills to level 10 and I'm done.

Btw, if you're gonna try out those series, for Tales of, I'd start with Symphonia, I've heard nothing but great things about it. Don't touch the sequel, either. Everyone hates that for some reason. Xillia and Xillia 2 are both solid entries, I loved them. There's also Graces f on PS3 that you can check out. I didn't finish it but I liked it. Skip right the hell over Zestiria and Berseria is releasing right around the corner. Hyperdimension Neptunia is.... messy beyond words. The best way to enjoy it is to just not take it seriously, like at all LMFAO.

The sequel in TOS was awesome though, Emil, Alice, and Marta were such good characters. :-/

Sorry, it was not. :/ It was a less than mediocre game and literally everyone disliked whiny Emil. Here's the critics' consensus:
http://www.metacritic.com/game/wii/tales-of-symphonia-dawn-of-the-new-world
Tales of Symponia however was great. Imo the best Tales of game there is. The story, the characters, the quality, the sheer length and content. Like in Pokemon Gold/Silver you have this WTF?! moment when you realize there is a whole other world to explore when you actually thought the game was over.
ToS is to the Tales of series basically what Ocarina of Time is to Zelda and Final fantasy VII is to Final Fantasy.

Lol I can't help it your Beyonce account was pretty much the first person I talked to when I joined this site! XD ( Oh the memories of Solange. :) )

And yeah me and ChapStick were talking about the Neptunia series and how it doesn't take it selkf that serious either so I'd go in to that series with a less serious view.

Also that's a shame that the game didn't live up to you, I did think the characters developed but obviously everyone has different views. About Luna spoilers.

Sadly I had a feeling that was going to happen but I wish it didn't there was so much more they could have done with her and after all the fanfare and how excited people were to see her she barely appeared! :( Gentiana I absolutely loved though and I think is one of the coolest characters. I really like Cindy/Cidney too.

Cool to hear your close to the Platinum as well though! :)

Also for the tales series I'll think about getting Bersearia but I think my safest bet from the praise its getting is Symphonia so I'll go for that if I decide to get into the tales games.

I'd say that it definitely lived up to my expectactions. I really loved the exploration, the world and even the gameplay and characters. Though I have to agree that the story is the weakest point of this game. In the first half a few things really happen and the second half is really bad for a FF game. Chapter 13 was a real pain when I played it, however it was the one who told a lot of things about the story (even if in a bad way) so I appreciate that at last.
I also don't like how they treated certain characters and how bad developed (or not developed at all) they were.
Overall it's an awesome game and I'm still playing it to complete everything (literally). I wanted to say "best game ever" but unfortunantely it has its weak points.

@Jadeinchains If you wanna play the Tales of series and plan on playing Zestiria, I recommend starting with it. I did it and I though it was fine (except for the story xD). After I played other Tales games (Symphonia, Xillia 1&2) I realized how bad certain thing were (exploration, gameplay, etc...) and probably it would have been really annoying to play. So yeah, I'd say to start with the weaker entries (Zestiria in this case), to appreciate it and the other ones even more.
Even now I wouldn't say I hate Zestiria, but the others one are better (my favorite is Xillia). Anyways, I'm pretty hyped for Berseria xD

Okay I'll definitely think about playing Zestiria first but If I play a Tales of game I'll need to research them and figure out if it will be Zesteria, Beseria or Symphonia.

And yeah chapter 13 was pretrty annoying to get through but I enjoyed the rest of the game and the characters.

Here's an interesting guide where you can and can not summon the astrals in the game:

Alstor Slough (Duscae) seems to be the only place in Lucis where you can summon all of them.

Hmm that's interesting! It took me a while to get Shiva and I've only had Leviathan two times or something, I seem to get Titan the most I think. Its interesting the way the summons work in this game, its better than the way in XIII I'd say though I did like Tuna's as well. ( It changed Tuna to Tuna again... and again so I give up. )

He just told you to skip Zestiria. That Tales game was quite Cluster-void.

Here is a post in spirit bomb style of gathered energy in it's entirety:

Taled of Symphonia is a yes, avoid the sequel though, that is correct in review standards. If you have a PS2, don't skip on Abyss since that is devs favorite Tales game. While I feel they give too much credit on it, I can see why on the concept and length. Zestiria on the other hand is best bought on a sale. Game is not worth 60 nor 50 for that matter. You'll see why.

SO3 is by far the best SO but you can't sleep on SO4 either. SO4 is the easiest and has better impact than SO5. SO5 in terms of raw contribution has the most solid battle mechanics. Actual mechanics of roles ideas that they wanted to include in SO1 and SO2 but didn't because back then graphics and data was too low to handle. SO5 was mostly handled by new members since the key members left for Square Enix and Monolith Soft, I'd get that from a sale as well.

Summoning tricks: Shoutouts to Raize on Gamefaqs.

To summon Ramuh, you'll have to be in battles for extensive time periods. (Ramuh is the only summon with time periods transferring to the next battle.) Summon can also be used inside dungeons.

To summon Shiva, you have to get yourself and the team to get constant hit with status effects. Poison, burn, etc. Summon can also be used inside dungeons.

To summon Titan, you have to get the team KOed quite often except you. Danger status from Noctis will reset this. You'll see why after this text.

To summon Leviathan, Noctis has to be in danger more than his team. Danger status alone works but it has to be constant.

Welcome.

Lmfao I get Shiva all the damn time, even when I'm at full health + no status ailments, I get Leviathan more than I do Ramuh. Titan hasn't appeared ONCE. I'm exhausted.

Lol run on foot from hammerhead to Lestallum multiple times while trying to get Gladio's survival skill to level 10 and then you'll be exhausted.

Try it. It is by far correct by Raize on GFAQs (same guy that made a video on how FFXII Summons work.) By the way, passive abilities and buffs count. Getting hit with "one" bad status effect (even one) resets the factors and makes Shiva a priority. Being in battles for too long will reset this and cause Ramuh instead. If you got Shiva then you've had to get hit with status effects previously before that battle.

Sparky, are you trying to summon the fusion of LeviShiva of ground thunder?

Did anyone else think Skyrim?! when hearing this during one of the boss battles? XD

I thought Shimomura was more original than this...
This might as well be a remix on OCremix lol (ok exaggerating but still). This is so similar to Elder Scroll's theme.

I love Shimomura, I really do, but so far the soundtrack of this game has yet to surprise me. I should listen all of it one day and judge it fully.

I found something precious:

Sexy Basch artwork from one of FFXII's art directors.
It's old stuff, but I appreciate it.
