Tested it again, ur partially right, in closed stance you can get both hits of Chifu K but in open stance the 1st hit ALWAYS whiffs vs. most weight classes, possibly everyone, tested vs. Sarah (Super light), Ayane and Kasumi (light), Hayate (medium) and Bass (super heavy).

I think you might have open and closed stance mixed up. Took that video earlier because I had nothing better to do

edit- bonus tag combo challenge to show how much damage it is (220!!)

It's fine. The open and closed stance is hardly mentioned... I would assume most people don't know the difference.

Thanks for the tag video, it's actually a lot easier when you see it in motion instead of a wall of text lol

220 on NH is legit. Highest I ever got without shenanigans was 195

The thing with P4 is... She has all this crazy shit she can do, and her damage is absolutely insane, but she needs to open her opponent up to be able to use any of it. And she can't do that. She has nothing to work with at neutral. So yeah, she's total shit and still the worst in the game imo.

I still love her though.

Any character can be used just fine but try playing against high level players with Eliot and you'll find yourself struggling with his neutral game. Haven't played P4 yet (since I won't be near an xbox til the weekend) but Nightpup's assessment of the character so far seems accurate (not being able to opponents up, not the worst character in the game part) based on the gameplay vids I've seen for her.

The thing is, Eliot has options to open his opponents up. He has parries and sabakis and good lows and reliable mids. After that it's just a matter of playing the stun game, which is easy for Eliot. Phase 4 has none of that.

I think she needs a few on block ports (66K, and PPPP+K for example), a good low move (Helena gets full stun game going for tapping your toes. Not saying she needs something that extreme, but just something to force low blocks some times and help in neural) 3P to become 3PP, a plus frame guard break or two (I might be crazy, but isn't Kasumi's equivalent a guard break?), and for 1P to be safe on hit (around -5) with more advantage off of counter hit (at least enough to get a combo of slip stun. Seriously tho TN? Idk if you forgot what unholy things gen fu gets off of slip stun, but +13 is atrocious considering that I can't even port off of it because it whiffs). As I said before, they put way too much emphasis on flashy combos, yet gave her no way to achieve them outside of absolutely outplaying the shit out of your opponent. This might be asking for too much, but she'd be damn good after it.

A part of me does enjoy how strategically I have to play tho. Idk if it's just the honeymoon phase (pun fucking intended) but, despite her flaws, I really enjoy playing her.

EDIT: Clarification.

should be guaranteed without Tech roll but

66K/STANCE/P PP6PK/STANCE/K force techs
I found one like that but it seems a little pointless to go for a +13 (pseudo) force tech that guarantees you nothing as far as I can tell because the opponent goes too far away rather than a juggle when you can actually get someone stunned.

Just because P4 doesn't have an easy win button doesn't mean she's bad.. In fact I'll put money down that everyone will agree she's top tier when the smoke clears. After a few hours of training I've found she has all the tools necessary, and AFAIK no other characters can get 100+ damage fully guaranteed.

you mean the move where Kasumi high jumps over the opponent? Phase 4 has that too?
Yup, only from chifu. I can't manage to do it from PPP(chi) but from 66PP it works. It's pretty much pointless in any case so she might as well not have it anyway.
