KOEI's Warriors + Sengoku Basara

I'll be updating this thread with the findings I got from TGS:

1. First of all, Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires! yay woo yippee (yeah this was expected). Imo, the Empires series brings about the tactical side of DW. This title will be available for the PS4, PS3 and Xbox One. From what I understand, they're building up from 7 Empires, which I really love btw. So, expect Strategems to return. Not only can you create a custom character, you can customize your steed, foot soldiers as well as your army banner as well. Additionally, a fan voted character in the form of bishie Xun Yu makes his debut.

2. The second project Koei showcased at TGS is Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3. It's basically Samurai Warriors on the go. In this game, you're a young warrior who lives through most of the Sengoku period and it's for the Vita and 3DS. I can't say I'm excited with the entire Samurai Warriors series because I feel like they haven't done anything new. Idk, how the characters fight now is exactly how they fought 10 years ago. Plus, I can't seem to guarantee if this will be available internationally since the first game was localized, while its sequel wasn't.

3. This one took me completely by surprise. Kessen fans should enjoy this one. Why? Because it's Bladestorm! Bladestorm Hyakunen Sensou and Nightmare is the HD remake and sequel to the original game. The game is split into two halves: Hundred Years' War and Nightmare. Hundred Years' War offers the same experience as its base title. Nightmare is an original story with fantasy elements and monsters, such as goblins, dragons, and cyclops. Players can side with Bladestorm characters in these make-believe battles. It'll be on the PS4, PS3 and Xbox One.

Been playing Hyrule Warriors for the last couple days and really enjoying it. Specials are very limiting compared to the likes of Ken's Rage 1 and 2 since the characters only have one per weapon. Which limits your AoE strategies for clearing crowds faster. But the items and weak point gauges certainly makes things interesting. This soundtrack is pretty hardcore for a Zelda title. It's expected from any sort of Dynasty Warriors game.

Favorite track in the game so far because violin :V

Does anyone else here think that Tengu or Nyotengu would be good for WO3U? I mean considering the game already has a bunch of characters from Chinese/Japanese mythology and the fact that Tengu/Nyotengu does use a weapon to fight, it'd be perfect.

Hell yeah it would! lol I can already picture her gameplay and stuff. Her R1 special would be her wind attack and her special relations would be with Hayabusa, Minamoto and Kiyomori. Maybe I should tell Koei about it lol.

So question, when you have your Attack stat with a character as 999, do weapon mods like "Brawn" and "Courage" still stack on top of that base damage, or are they useless since your damage output is capped to the maximum by default?

Useless. Stats can't go above 999.

I should redownload it for the PS4 version.

Which version do you have CyberEvil? I know Brute has the PS3 version for it.

Xbox One. That's the answer almost 100% of the time as far as games I buy. Just need Last Round on it and I can get rid of my 360 too.

The rewards you get for WO3U on Xbox One challenges (the timed achievements) make it easily the best version by the way. Takes some of the grinding away.

Oh wow, didn't even know it was for the Xbox one as well.

Is the coop still locking those that can only play specific missions if both of them beat that mission first?

Just tested it. My brother had only beaten Chapter 1, but I could join him in online co-op during his first playthroughs during all Chapter 2 missions (I had beaten all missions in the game on my own).

So, yeah. Co-op on first playthroughs is a thing.

Btw, what weapon attributes have you guys been using? For me I use Bolt, Wind, Slay, Absorption, Osmosis, Agility, Typhoon and Brilliance. This was the setup I used for original WO3 as well. Though I'm thinking of switching out either Bolt or Slay for Boltslay and adding something else.

I think it only doesn't work if neither of you have beaten a level. Idk I think it's a waste of time either way.

Okay, another question: If my attack rating is 999 does my weapon damage matter, or is it always doing max damage? Because if it's the latter, I can use a level 1 weapon to the same effect as my Five Star X weapon (Dragon Sword, yay!).

Depends on my character. For my projectile characters like Ina and Himiko I use Echo and Typhoon, whereas with melee characters like Hayabusa and Guan Yu I stick with things like Tri-Element, Wind and Slay.

In general I always have Agility +10, Reach +10 and Osmosis +10, however.

Has anyone noticed this glitch in Chapter 7 of WO3U where you gotta rescue the Heavenly Emperor? Sometimes even when you save the emperor and he successfully leaves through the escape point, the game will act as if he died and you will lose the battle :p it's happened to me about 3 times in a row last night when I was just playing through the story. Now I'm afraid to play this stage again for mystic weapons lol.

Interesting. No, that's never happened to me before (I've only played that mission twice, however).
Do you kill Orochi immediately when he spawns in the throne room or do you run away? That may have something to do with it (I always kill him immediately).

If it's too much trouble, you could always just wait for the X weapons instead, since they are a lot better than the mystic ones (sans appearance).

Yup its a glitch. It seems someone else has the same issue as me and made a topic on gamefaqs: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/720582-warriors-orochi-3-ultimate/70123627

Why this happens, I'm not certain. I did speed through the stage and killed Orochi ASAP in the throne room as well as any officers that got in the way of the emperor. I was using my maxed out Zhao Yun to ensure things went smoothly. Yet he still "died". Though for some odd reason on my fourth attempt, he lived. :p
