Good grief, really people?
Oh, online doesn't matter, competition online? lulz.
This crap pisses me right off. We're supposed to be a community, right? Do you see the online only people raggin on the offline community? Nope. Because it's 2 facets of the same game. Now, that doesn't mean that the online set-up isn't a clusterf*ck and a half, but discounting the online portion of DOA has done damage to it. Not everyone has a scene in their neck of the woods, and as most organizers can tell you, it's a lot of work to get offline tourneys up and running. So, you hope you can bump into people online that are near you, and get something set-up.
Problem is, you find that no one wants to play online because 'it doesn't matter'.
How about you stop 'the hatin' (that's what you kids say nowadays, right?), and treat both sides with respect?
